Ajay Devgn and Kajol are much known for their magical love story. Even though the couple have never been spotted doing PDA, their strong and solid marriage of over two decades proves that they are in a very happy relationship. The stars tied the knot in February 1999. Time and again they have proved that they are the power couple of Bollywood. First meeting

Kajol and Ajay met each other for the first time on the sets of the film Hulchul in 1995. But did you know? Kajol had bad-mouthed him before she met him. “On the sets of Hulchul–I was ready for the shot & asked, ‘Where’s my hero?’ Someone pointed him out–he was broodily sitting in a corner. So 10 minutes before I met him, I bitched about him!,” Kajol told in an interview with Humans of Bombay in 2020.

No love at first sight

Unlike other couples, Kajol and Ajay’s love story was not love at first sight. Infact, Kajol hadn’t liked Ajay at all. However, with time, the two had become friends and had started dating. Whereas, Ajay had also confessed that it wasn’t love at first sight for him as well, Ajay told Pioneer, “I wasn’t very keen to meet her after that. When you meet her for the first time, she comes across as a loud, arrogant and a very talkative person. Moreover, we were very different from each other in terms of personality.”

Family refusal

Kajol’s father had refused to talk to her for four days after she informed him about her decision to marry Ajay Devgn. “We’d been dating for 4 years, when we decided to get married. His parents were on board, but my dad didn’t talk to me for 4 days. He wanted me to focus on my career, but I was firm & he eventually came around,” said Kajol to Humans of Bombay.

Taking the plunge

Ajay and Kajol got married on February 24, 1999. They didn’t have a big fat Indian wedding. Infact, they had a very intimate and private ceremony. They had also given the media the wrong venue for their wedding ceremony as they wanted to enjoy some privacy. The couple had a Punjabi ceremony & a Marathi wedding. Currently, the two are parents to daughter Nysa and son Yug.

Through thick and thin

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress had suffered through two painful miscarriage. She told Humans of Bombay: “I was pregnant during Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001, but had a miscarriage. I was in the hospital that day–the film had done so well, but it wasn’t a happy time. I had another miscarriage after that–it was tough. “But eventually it worked out–we had Nysa and Yug and our family’s complete.”
