Sivagami – ‘Baahubali’/’Baahubali 2’ (Ramya Krishnan)
We all have loved ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’. One of the best elements of the film is the star cast, and one character that has left an impact on us, is that of Sivagami played by Ramya Krishnan. The actress was amazing in both the films. In fact, a whole book, set in the era before the sequences in 'Baahubali' series took place, has been dedicated to Sivagami. So, we really wish to see a spin-off on her character, on the celluloid.
Dr Jehangir Khan – ‘Dear Zindagi’ (Shah Rukh Khan)
Shah Rukh Khan’s smile is enough to cure a person. Well, the actor played the role of Dr Jehangir Khan in ‘Dear Zindagi’ and stole our hearts. Though the film was more about Alia’s character Kaira, we got certain insights into the life of Dr. Khan too. A film on Dr Jehangir will surely be a very fascinating watch, and of course we want SRK in it.
Saba Taliyar Khan – ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan)
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was merely there for some 20-25 odd minutes in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil hai Mushkil’. But, she was the best part of the film, and the way she managed her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Ayan, was something very inspiring, a trait of a beautiful, fierce, and independent woman. We are sure all the fans of Aishwarya would love to see a film which is all about Saba, her career, her story and of course her beauty.
Rahul Kapoor – ‘Kapoor & Sons’ (Fawad Khan)
For the first time in a mainstream Bollywood film, neither was a gay character made fun of nor was he just there as a comic prop. In ‘Kapoor & Sons’, Fawad Khan’s character Rahul Kapoor was gay, and as in the climax of the film he came out of closet, we would like to know how his life went further. Well, a film on Rahul Kapoor concentrating on his love story would be really great.
Deepak Sehgal – ‘PINK’ (Amitabh Bachchan)
Amitabh Bachchan nailed it as Deepak Sehgal, the lawyer in ‘PINK’. His character was a bipolar personality, and was quite mysterious. We are sure there was a story behind his mysterious personality, and we would surely like to know about it. A movie based on Big B’s character from ‘PINK’ is something we are looking forward to. Won’t be it amazing to see Amitabh Bachchan fighting more cases?
Kashibai – ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (Priyanka Chopra)
Though Priyanka Chopra was in a supporting role in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, she literally stole the show from Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone who played titular roles. We loved Kashibai’s character and were feeling bad for her more than we did for Bajirao and Mastani. It will be interesting to know more about Kashi and what happened to her after Bajirao and Mastani died.
Vijayalakshmi – ‘Queen’ (Lisa Haydon)
Lisa Haydon’s character Vijayalakshmi in ‘Queen’ was just there in the first half of the movie. But, it was a character, the screen presence of which we wanted in the whole movie. A spin-off on Vijayalakshmi would be a hell of an experience knowing that she was a free-spirited girl living on her own terms.
Indu Pratap – ‘Raajneeti’ (Katrina Kaif)
Katrina Kaif hardly had any role in ‘Raajneeti’. But, the movie ended with her character Indu Pratap turning a minister. It was also stated that her character was inspired from Sonia Gandhi. So, it will be interesting to see Katrina Kaif taking centre-stage in ‘Raajneeti 2’ and the whole film concentrating on how a woman handles politics.
Meera Gaity (Rani Mukerji)
Rani Mukerji won accolades for her performance of a feisty journalist Meera Gaity in ‘No One Killed Jessica’. Well, though Rani’s character was the highlight of the film, the movie concentrates more on Sabrina Lal. A spin-off of the film just showing how Meera’s character became a fearless journalist would be so much fun.
Raja Awasthi – ‘Tanu Weds Manu’/’Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ (Jimmy Sheirgill)
In both the films, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, Raja Awasthi fails to get a girl. Well, a film on his character would be hilarious. We would love to know what happened with Raja Awasthi after he lost Tanu and Datto both.
Bollywood is surely all into innovation nowadays. Also, there was a time when filmmakers were hardly making any women-centric films. But now, we see many films where actresses are protagonist with strong roles. Similarly, we see a trend of spin-offs shaping up in Bollywood. We recently saw ‘Naam Shabana’ which was a spin-off of ‘Baby’. Taapsee Pannu had played a small yet pivotal role in ‘Baby’, and ‘Naam Shabana’ was a spin-off movie carved out on the same. Reports of a spin-off being planned on Saif Ali Khan’s character, Langda Tyagi, from ‘Omkara’ are also doing rounds. (Also Read: ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ has broken these records till now)

It got us thinking. What if some of the interesting characters got their own movies as well? While we enjoyed watching ‘Naam Shabana’, we are sure it will be interesting to watch a spin-off on these characters:

‘Eat Sleep Bollywood Repeat’ is his life Mantra. Dance is his first love and Rani Mukerji is his eternal crush. He is someone who loves being himself, and as for the ones who don’t agree, his reply? “Talk to my hand!”
