Tanushree Dutta
Tanushree won the Femina Miss India title in 2004 and later appeared in her debut film 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' opposite Emraan Hashmi, which was her only successful stint in Bollywood. Tanushree tried her luck in many bollywood movies late on, but failed everytime. She soon bid a goodbye to b-town and disappeared suddenly. Last heard, the actress has grew her interest in spirituality and it is also said that she has started residing in spiritual ‘ashrams’.
Udita Goswami
Udita Goswami made her Bollywood debut with the film 'Paap' and also achieved a nomination for the best female debut for her performance. She then featured in films like 'Zeher', 'Aksar', 'Dil Diya Hai ' and a few more. Unfortunately, she could not establish herself as a prominent actress in B-town and then disappeared from the glamour world. She is married to filmmaker Mohit Suri and is now enjoying the marital bliss.
Antara Mali
Actress Antara Mali made her Bollywood debut with the 1998 movie 'Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge!'. As the film flopped, she became Ram Gopal Varma's muse and was seen in many of his movies like 'Prem Katha', 'Naach' 'Gayab', 'Mr Ya Miss', 'Road', to name a few. She soon disappeared from the industry and tied the knot with the editor of GQ magazine, Che Kurrien in 2009. She gave birth to a baby girl on May 1, 2012.
Rinke Khanna
Rinke Khanna, sister of actress Twinkle Khanna has been a part of movies like 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi', 'Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain', Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, to name a few. She was last seen in the movie 'Chameli'. She has quite Bollywood and is happily married to businessman Sameer Saran since 8 February 2003 and is settled in the UK with hubby and kids.
Sonam
Sonam's debut films, 'Mitti aur Sona' and 'Vijay' did not make a mark at the box-office, but it was her role in ‘Tridev’ that gave her the fame required. Sonam later married director/producer Rajiv Rai and soon after, left the country as her husband started getting extortion calls from the underworld. The actress is currently settled in Switzerland with her husband and the two have a son called Gaurav Rai. She rarely visits the country and is not in touch with any of her Bollywood co-stars.
Meenakshi Sheshadri
One of the most popular actresses in the Indian cinema in the 90's was Meenakshi Sheshadri, who made her debut with ‘Hero’ opposite Jackie Shroff. While the movie was a hit, Meenakshi became an instant favourite of the masses. She started getting acting offers after she won the Miss India crown at the age of 17. The actress was seen in superhit films like 'Shahenshah', 'Ghayal', and 'Ghatak', and gave her career best performance in 'Damini'. But soon after, Meenakshi disppeared from the silver screens. The actress moved to the US after her marriage with an investment banker named Harish Mysore. It was only recently that her 'Damini' co-star Rishi Kapoor brought her back to our lives with a tweet. Meenakshi is now 52 year old and is based in New York. she stays there with her husband and two children. She also runs a dance school called ‘Cherish Dance School’ in the US, where she teaches Indian dance forms to children.
Mandakini
Mandakini was a one time worned of the 90s. Her bold role in ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ is still remembered by many. The actress went on to star in many movies opposite actors like Govinda and Mithun Chakraborty, but none of them could recreate the magic of her debut movie. She was known to be romantically involved with unerworld don, Dawood Ibrahim. Mandakini married Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur in 1990 and had two children, a son called Rabbi and a daughter known as Rabze. Her son however died in a road accident in 2000. Mandakini specializes in Tibetan Yoga and is a disciple of Dalai Lama. She also runs a center for Tibetan medicine with her husband.
Mamta Kulkarni
‘Aashiq Awara’ was Mamta Kulkarni's full-fleged acting debut opposite Saif Ali Khan, which got her many ‘Best Debut’ awards that year. The actress went on to work with a number of A-list stars, including Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, etc. But her shirtless pictures for the cover of Stardust Film Magazine, was something that garnered her lot of criticism. She became a controversy queen with her saucy statements and various stints. Her downfall started when she starred in Raj Kumar Santoshi's 'China Gate' and later claimed that Santoshi had exploited her. Even after she was removed from the cast by Santoshi, it was allegedly Chota Rajan who helped her get the role back. It was only recently that Mamta Kulkarni was detained in Kenya along with her husband, underworld don Vicky Goswami for drug trafficking. He had been arrested earlier in Dubai too, but was released on grounds of good behavior. The two got married in 1997 and own a real estate and hotel business in Dubai. The 43 year old Mamta has reportedly turned into a Yogini and has even written a book called, ‘Autobiography of a Yogini’.
Koena Mitra
Winner of the beauty pageant Gladrags Mega Model India 2001, Koena Mitra made her Bollywood debut in an item song of 2002 movie ‘Road’. After that she also appeared in few commercials and movies. But after making her special appearance in ‘Heyy Babby’s’ item song in year 2007, she disappeared. Her plastic surgery is what made her famous and was also the reason of her downfall in the industry.
Kimi Katkar
The sex siren of the 90s, Kimi Katkar made her debut in the industry with ‘Tarzan’, where she seen portraying a bold role. The actress has an ooppurtunity to star opposite many popular actors of the 80s and 90s, like Anil Kapoor. But it was her stint opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 'Hum' and the song 'Jumma Chumma De De' that gave her major popularity. She however quit acting in movies after her marriage to ad-filmmaker and photographer Shantanu Shorey. Now 49, Kimi leads a private life with family.
Farah Naaz
Registering hits like 'Baap Numbari Beta Dus Numbari', 'Naseeb Apna Apna', 'Imaandaar', and 'Love 86' under her name, Farah was a known name in the 90s. Actress Tabu's sister, Farah was always a private person. She was married to Vindoo Dara Singh, but the couple divorced. Sher later married former Indian Bollywood actor and producer, Summet Saigal. She was last seen on screen opposite Paresh Rawal in Priyadarshan’s movie ‘Hulchul’.
Anu Aggarwal
Anu become a household name after she starred in Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Aashiqui.’ She soon started getting acting offers, but her career took a full-stop after she had an accident in 1999 and her left side was left paralyzed. The actress also lost her memory for some time. The 46 year old is currently single and lives in Bihar. She practices Yoga at the Bihar School of Yoga. The actress has participated in many amateur powerlifting competitions, and has also written her autobiography called 'Anusual- Memoir of a Girl who Came Back from the Dead'.
Mahima Choudhry
Mahima Choudhry made her Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai's film 'Pardes' and managed to impress all. She then went on to do memorable films like 'Pyar Koi Khel Nahi', 'Dil Hai Tumhaara' and many more. But she couldn't achieve the success that her contemporaries did. We rarely get to see Mahima on screen now and last we had heard that she is going to feature in a Bengali film.
Bhumika Chawla
Bhumika Chawla made a splash in Bollywood when she appeared in a Salman Khan film called 'Tere Naam'. She had already set a benchmark for herself in South Industry but unfortunately she could not attain success in Bollywood. She then went on a sabbatical for few years and now she is apparently make a comeback to acting with a South film.

Bhagyashree received a glorious entry to Bollywood with a Salman Khan film called 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. This film was a blockbuster but unfortunately Bhagyashree's Bollywood career couldn't be a hit. She appeared in a few films, but then vanished from the glamour world. Now, we hear that her son is all set to make an entry in Bollywood.
Namrat Shirodkar
Namrata Shirodkar won the Miss India crown in 1993 and then made an entry in Bollywood. She was known for the beautiful mole that she has on her chin. She has shared screen space with stars like Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and others but unfortunately couldn’t make it big in the industry. She then married South superstar Mahesh Babu and is leading a happy married life.
Ayesha Jhulka
With films like ‘Kurbaan’, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander’, ‘Khiladi’ and many more, Ayesha Jhulka attained fame quite quickly, but unfortunately, she couldn’t retain it. She disappeared from the big screen quite early. She is now an entrepreneur. She has her own spa business and has a clothing line in her name.
Bollywood is a huge industry. Hundreds of people step daily in the world of Bollywood to test their luck. While some fail to make their presence felt, some are here to stay. However, even after making their mark in the industry, there are a few celebs who disappeared from the big screen and eventually, from people’s minds, completely.
