Akshay Kumar has worked hard to reach his enviable position in B-Town. He has worked as a waiter and a cook at a hotel in Bangkok whereas Twinkle was a star kid who grew in the lap of luxury. Akshay finally debuted with a small role in Mahesh Bhatt directorial 'Aaj', while Twinkle marked her debut opposite Bobby Deol in 'Barsaat'.

Cupid Strikes

The two first met during a shoot for Filmfare magazine, where the Khiladi soon developed a major crush on her. But true love developed while they were shooting for 'International Khiladi'. Not many know that there is an interesting story behind Twinkle and Akshay's wedding. Twinkle, who was working with Aamir Khan in 'Mela', was sure that the dacoit drama will be a hit. She told Akshay that if the movie flopped, she would tie the knot with him. The movie did flop and the rest is history.

The Wedding

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna tied the knot on January 17, 2001. It was at designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s residence, with just 50 guests witness to their nuptials. Notable guests at their wedding were Aamir Khan, politician Amar Singh and renowned director Dharmesh Darshan.

They Lived Happily Ever After

The couple are proud parents of two children - Aarav and Nitara and the love that they share has grown stronger over the ages. The love, support and respect the two have for each other is what makes their relationship strong.
