Amitabh Bachchan

Sr Bachchan was involved in an accident on the sets of the 1982 film Coolie. Big B, who was supposed to jump on the table, had accidentally landed up in the wrong spot while shooting for an intense fight scene with co-star Puneet Issar. The actor had undergone multiple surgeries. And reportedly he was even declared clinically dead for a few minutes before being put up on the ventilator. Amitabh Bachchan had even not been responding to the treatment and medicines until his wounds finally started healing.

Shabana Azmi

The National award-winning actress had met with an accident some years ago. The accident took place at Lonavala when her car rammed into a truck on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Shabana Azmi was in the car and heading towards Mumbai. The actress had sustained minor injuries on her face, neck, chin, and eye as she was seated next to the driver.

Mahima Chaudhary

The actress was at the peak of her career when she met with a near-fatal accident. During the accident, 67 pieces of glass hit her face. Due to the gruesome accident, Mahima had to undergo a facial surgery. During her appearance on Her Story season 1, she told Bollywood Bubble, “It was the last day of the shoot in Banglore, and I was going to the school where the shoot was. It was early morning, normally you get staff to be in the car ahead of you or behind you. I was ready at 5.30 am and I was supposed to be there at 7 am. I told my staff to leave before me, otherwise, people will think I’m not ready. But, my mother asked ‘Why can’t you go if you’re ready?’ Then I sat in the car and left, but by that time, my staff had already left.”

She continued, “A doodh wala truck (milk truck) was coming from the wrong side, we were going roundabout. So, the truck came and smashed my car in the roundabout. The truck came and rammed into me, so, the glass came like bullets and splinters into my face all over. The pieces of glass did not hit me anywhere else, I did not break my bones. It was only my face.”

Hema Malini

The veteran actress met with an accident in Jaipur in 2015. Her speeding Mercedes had rammed into a Maruti Alto. There was a casualty. As per the witnesses present at the location, Hema Malini was hurt on the forehead and she was driven away to Jaipur after the crash. Malini had made a tweet after the accident which led to a nation-wide outrage.

Sonu Sood

Sood, who has been the Messiah to migrant workers during the pandemic made it to the headlines in 2014 when his car caught fire in the middle of the streets of Mumbai. Sonu was driving the car and had immediately reacted to the incident. He called the Fire Brigade who helped him. The actor was not hurt.

Sunil Grover

The Bharat actor suffered an accident when his Mercedes was bumped into an Alto. As per officials, Grover was in his car when his driver lost control of the steering and hit the oncoming four-wheeler. Reportedly, three passengers travelling in the Alto were hurt.

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan

The Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania actors had once faced a major accident during the promotions of the movie. They were on their way to the airport when a car rammed into theirs from behind. The intensity of the accident was so much that the rear windscreen of Varun-Alia’s car was broken completely. They had quickly jumped out of the car. An India Today report said that when Alia and Varun’s car had stopped at a traffic signal, it was hit from behind and that even some shards of glass landed on the backseat. Reportedly, the car belonged to Assistant Commissioner of Police, JN Parmar (G Division, Ahmedabad).
