The actor had even mortgaged his house, but the offer of hosting 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' saved the situation for him and he soon emerged to become the biggest superstar of the country.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra had once stated to the media that she was running short of money. This was the reason why she couldn't make a video for her IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, as she was apparently “extremely poor”. She had even confessed that they were trying to save money.

Sajid wanted to resolve the issue through legal action, but apparently, it was Salman Khan who intervened and helped Jackie dada repay his debts. It was rumoured that Jackie sold his flat to pay the loan amount.

He may be the Showman of the Indian film industry, but he has seen trying times too. Raj Kapoor’s legendary film 'Mera Naam Joker' tanked at the box office leaving him almost bankrupt.
AK Hangal
Late Bollywood actor AK Hangal, who was known for his work in films like 'Namak Haram', 'Sholay' and for his famous dialogue, "Itna sannatta kyu hain bhai," had gone bankrupt at the age of 95. Reportedly, the actor found it difficult to meet his medical expenses, when celebs like Jaya Bachchan and Salman Khan helped him pay his dues.
Govinda
After his career in Bollywood, followed by politics, there came a point in Bollywood actor Govinda's life, when he went bankrupt. Starting his film career again with ‘Partner’, Govinda managed to clear all his debts.
Preity Zinta
After the debacle of her production house's maiden film 'Ishkq In Paris', rumours had it that Preity Zinta was suffering from financial crisis. According to reports, Abbas Tyrewala, who was the dialogue writer of 'Ishkq In Paris', had filed a case against the actress regarding non-payment of dues. A cheque worth Rs 18.9 lakh had also bounced. The court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Priety Zinta when she failed to appear in the court for the first time. Preity had even confessed that Salman Khan offered to help her.
Shweta Basu Prasad
The child artiste from 'Makdee', Shweta Basu Prasad, who is also a National Award winner, once went bankrupt. The actress was recently in news for her alleged involvement in a s*x racket (which she later rebuffed), and reports doing the rounds around the same time claimed that she was running out of work and money.
