Salman Khan may have been giving high flying action films since the past decade or so, and all of them have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box-office. However, amidst all the films, there is a certain ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, which is even today considered as a Kabir Khan masterpiece. Today as the film completes 5 years, let’s go down memory lane and have a look at some of the most interesting yet unknown facts about the film.

- Casting director Mukesh Chhabra had once revealed in an interview that for the character of Munni, he and director Kabir Khan had auditioned over 1000 girls. Not only that, but the girls had also been auditioned from across India, Iran, Afghanistan and many other places too. Finally, Harshaali Malhotra was selected as Munni from Delhi.

- Director Kabir Khan had conceived the character of Bajrangi much before the scripting even began. He had, in fact, thought of the character while shooting for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with Salman Khan. The two has spoken about the film then itself and had decided that they will collaborate once again for a film. The film, which eventually got titled ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

- Not many would know that the film, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, was written by KV Vijayendra Prasad who is the father of ‘Baahubali’s director SS Rajamouli. The first part of ‘Baahubali’ released just over 10 days before ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and both the films turned out to be massive blockbusters. Both written by the same man.

- Salman Khan always has a knack of knowing what casting would work the best for a movie. It was his idea to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the character of the Pakistani reporter, Chand Nawab. It was the third most important character in the film after Bajrangi and Munni. Since Salman had worked with Nawaz in ‘Kick’, he knew that the character couldn’t be played by anyone better than Nawazuddin. The rest, as we know, is history.

- Singer Adnan Sami made his acting debut singing his self-rendered qawwali Bhar de jholi on-screen which was featured in a crucial juncture of the film. After that Adnan has gone ahead to get Indian citizenship and has become a proud member of the Indian society.
