‘Udta Punjab’
In this Abhishek Chaubey directorial, Shahid played a rockstar battling drug addiction. Shahid bagged Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his terrific performance in this film.
‘Kaminey’
It is a really big thing for any actor to play a double role in a film. In this Vishal Bhardwaj directorial, Shahid played twins, one with a lisp and the other with a stutter. The rivalry between these twins made for a compelling watch. Shahid nailed both the roles and thereby proved his versatility as an actor.
‘Jab We Met’
Imtiaz Ali is a great storyteller and in Shahid, the director found his Aditya who is soft-spoken, serious and minds his own business until me bumps into Geet (Kareena Kapoor Khan). That changes him and his life forever. Watching Shahid play Aditya with so much subtlety was a treat.
‘Haider’
Vishal Bhardwaj always brings out the best in his actors. In this modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy 'Hamlet', Shahid once again showcased his terrific range as an actor. He again bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for this film.
‘Vivah’
For any actor to be a part of Rajshri Productions' film is an honour. Shahid made girls fall in love with him all over again by playing Prem, the ideal guy every women would want to marry.
Shahid Kapoor marked his Bollywood debut in 2003 with ‘Ishq Vishk’.
