2. Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar waited tables in Bangkok before he came to Mumbai to become an actor. He made his debut in Bollywood with a small role in Mahesh Bhatt’s, “Aaj”. Akshay then, made his presence felt as a lead in the 1991 film “Saugandh” and is today one of the leading stars of the Hindi film industry.

3. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is a great example of hard work, talent, and good looks. Coming from a non-filmy background, Priyanka established herself not only in Bollywood but also in Hollywood. The winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant stepped into Bollywood with, “The Hero: Love Story of a Spy” and today is a producer, actress, singer and a philanthropist.

4. Kangana Ranaut

Kangana rose to fame with her very first film, “Gangster”. Hailing from a non-filmy family, Kangana faced a lot of stiff opposition when she decided to become an actress. She solidified her reputation as a leading lady who can shoulder mainstream films, with hits like, “Queen” and “Tanu Weds Manu” series.

5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawaz made his Bollywood debut in 1999, with a small role in the Aamir Khan-starrer, “Sarfarosh”. He did several small roles, but was largely undiscovered until Anurag Kashyap’s, “Black Friday” happened in 2004. His stunning performance in, “Gangs Of Wasseypur” catapulted him straight to the top.

6. Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant worked in TV for years before he entered Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor’s, “Kai Po Che!”. The film won him several debut awards. He then followed it up with films like, “Shuddh Desi Romance”, “PK” and “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy”.

7. Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana started his career by winning the reality show “Roadies 2”. He made a successful Bollywood debut with, “Vicky Donor” in 2012 and today has earned the position of the most bankable star of the industry.

8. Shah Rukh Khan

And finally, it’s the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. After working in TV shows, SRK made his Bollywood debut with, “Deewana”. Within the next three years, he gave Bollywood one of its most iconic films, “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge” and soon earned the title of King Khan. Two and a half decades on, he remains the undisputed king of Bollywood.
