Amitabh Bachchan

In the year 2000, Amitabh Bachchan faced financial crisis when his company ABCL went bankrupt, and he owed over Rs. 90 crore in debt. The actor had even mortgaged his house, but the offer of hosting 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' saved the situation for him.

Shilpa Shetty

Beautiful actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra had once admitted to media that she was running short of money. This would keep her from making a video for her IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, as she was apparently “extremely poor”. She had even confessed that they were trying to save money.

Preity Zinta

After the release of ‘Ishkq in Paris’, Preity faced financial crisis. Reportedly, the film’s writer-director Abbas Tyrewala slapped a case against the actress for non-payment of dues. Reports also suggested that the actress even put her apartment out on rent to pay the dues.

Jackie Shroff

The hunk of 80's and the 90's era, Jackie Shroff experienced financial crisis in 2008. To pay all his dues, Jackie had even sold his flat. He had taken a loan from director Sajid Nadiawala, but he couldn't repay it. Sajid was about to go with legal authorities but it was Salman Khan who intervened in the matter and helped Jackie repay his debts.

Govinda

Govinda also had to face financial crisis once. His financial situation was so bad that even hiring taxis and rickshaws became hard for him. Salman Khan came to his rescue and brought Govinda onboard for ‘Partner’. With the film, Govinda managed to clear all his debts.

AK Hangal

Late Bollywood actor AK Hangal, who worked in over 200 films also went through a bad financial phase. At 95, he went bankrupt and was unable to pay his medical bills. However, celebs like Jaya Bachchan, Salman and Karan Johar came out to help him.

Shweta Basu Prasad

You may all remember the child artist from 'Makdee', Shweta Basu Prasad, even she went bankrupt. The actress was recently in news for her alleged involvement in a sex racket, and reports doing the rounds around the same time claimed that she was running out of work and money.
