Rahul Bose
Rahul Bose assisted in the relief efforts in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands after the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. As a result of this work, Bose launched the Andaman and Nicobar Scholarship Initiative through his NGO, The Foundation. The scholarship program provides for the education of underprivileged children from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rahul is associated with several charitable organizations such as Teach for India, Akshara Centre, Breakthrough, Citizens for Justice and Peace and the Spastics Society of India. He is closely associated with the Teach For India movement to eradicate inequity in education. In addition, he became the first Indian Oxfam global ambassador in 2007. He is the founder and chairman of The Group of Groups, an umbrella organisation for 51 Mumbai charitable organisations and NGOs. He is also an ambassador for the American India Foundation, the World Youth Peace Movement and Planet Alert.
John Abraham
John Abraham takes an interest in PETA and Habitat for Humanity. He donated ₹1 Lakh to the Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. He has also participated in charity based marathon and biking competitions. He did not run the marathon, but encouraged the participants by waving at them from the start line.
Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan promotes humanitarian causes and supports charitable institutions. In March 2011, she endorsed World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour campaign in India. She campaigned for the cause of nutrition in India for Child In Need Institute (CINI), a non-profit organisation based in Kolkata. In September 2012, Vidya visited a village in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, where she participated in a campaign to promote children's education and the empowerment of women.Vidya has also been appointed by the Government of India as their brand ambassador in the drive to improve the country's sanitary condition. In September that year, she launched a technology-based learning platform for underprivileged children in the Thanapur village of Uttar Pradesh.
Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan has been involved in many social works. Amitabh Bachchan was made UNICEF goodwill ambassador for polio Eradication Campaign in India in 2002, when 1,556 polio cases were detected that year. On 27 March 2014, World Health Organization (WHO) declared India a polio free country with no case of disease being reported in the previous three years. In 2013, Amitabh and his family donated ₹25 lakh to charitable trust Plan India, that works for the upliftment of the girl child in India. Amitabh Bachchan donated ₹11 lakh to Maharashtra Police Welfare Fund in 2013. Amitabh was the face of 'Save Our Tigers' campaign that promoted the importance of tiger conservation in India. Amitabh also supported PETA India's campaign to free.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a UN Microcredit Spokesperson, she supports PETA India. She pledged to donate her eyes to the Eye Bank Association of India and appeared in a public awareness film on eye donation. In November 2004, Aishwara Rai created the Aishwarya Rai Foundation to help needy people in India. In 2009 Aishwarya was appointed as the first Goodwill Ambassador of Smile Train, an international charity that provides free Cleft lip and palate surgery to children in need.
Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra often speaks out on women's issues: against female infanticide and foeticide, and in support of education for girls. In 2006, a "day with Chopra" was auctioned on eBay; the proceeds were donated to an NGO, 'Nanhi Kali', which helps to educate girls in India. In 2010 Priyanka was one of several celebrities who created promotional messages for Pearls Wave Trust, which campaigns against violence and abuse of women and girls. Priyanka also appeared at the launch of a campaign called "Save Girl Child", which aims to change the attitudes of Indians towards girls. She has worked with UNICEF since 2008, recording public-service announcements and participating in media panel discussions promoting children's rights and the education of girls, and also participated in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. She was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights on 10 August 2010.
Salman Khan
Salman Khan has decided to donate all the profits of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' to farmers who committed suicide. Apart from this, Salman Khan has also donated Rs 1 crore for the well-being of a 5-month old premature child. The Mother died during the pregnancy and the baby had to undergo a heart surgery. Salman donated the money so that a life could be saved.
Kareena Kapoor
Bollywood glamorous diva Kareena Kapoor has made public appearances to support various philanthropic endeavours, and has been actively involved in promoting children's education and the safety of women. In November 2003, she performed at a fundraiser for the World Youth Peace Summit whilst in 2005, she and other Bollywood actors participated in a concert to raise money for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Kareena was appointed ambassador for the Shakti Campaign—a project launched by the NDTV television network to combat violence against women—in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day. In December 2013, Kapoor launched Channel V's anti-rape mobile app 'VithU'. In 2014, Kapoor joined UNICEF's campaign to launch a higher-quality learning environment in Indian schools.

Recently, Shah Rukh and his team of ‘Dilwale’ had donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fun, to bring relief to the people affected from floods in Chennai.
Akshay Kumar

Nana Patekar
Veteran actor Nana Patekar has been on his toes, working day and night, to bring some relief to the farmers who are badly affected by drought in Maharashtra. He has started a foundation called 'NAAM' through which he is trying to raise funds to aid the poor farmers, who are starving to death because of deadly drought. The Natasamrat' actor had donated Rs 15000 each to the families of farmers who committed suicide in the regions of Vidharba.
