Ajay Devgn
Ajay Devgn has an important revelation. He said, “I don’t believe in film awards. I have always made it a point to never take those awards... . They (the organizers of private awards) need maximum number of stars to attend their ceremony, so they call you up and tell you that if you attend their event, they will give you an award. So what is the point of getting an award only if you will attend the show? And if you are unable to make it at the last minute … the chit with the name of the winner changes and another actor gets the trophy. I have lost faith in such ceremonies.”
Emraan Hashmi
Emrran Hashmi says, “Audience appreciation matters more to me than this recognition. And I’d be happy if I could pass on an award meant for me to a contemporary who values it more and takes days out of his schedule every year to attend these functions,” he reasons, adding that he had once attended an awards night, but walked out after 20 minutes. “I know it was wrong to get up and leave but I just couldn’t sit through it anymore. So rather than insult a function again, I’ve decided not be there.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui feels that the Awards are unfair and not all deserving actors get awarded. He once said that, "I feel a number of actors do a great job, but they aren't awarded appropriately for their work ... There are so many of them (award functions) that the sense of gratification which you should feel on getting an award, is hardly there."
Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan who feels that the Award are all fixed says, “Fact is that I have no objections to film awards per se. I just feel that if I don’t value a particular film award, then I won’t attend it either. Apart from the national award, I don’t see any other award ceremony that I should give value to. My personal experience about these award ceremonies is that I don’t trust them. I have no faith in them so I would prefer to stay away.”
Sunny Deol
The Gadar star Sunny Deol stopped attending Award functions, after Shahrukh Khan’s 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' was picked over his 'Border'.
Apart from the remuneration the actors receive, awards are a way we can applaud them for their performance. But there are certain celebrities who think these awards are fixed so they have decided to boycott the functions. Here is a list of Bollywood celebrities who have boycotted the award functions.
