Over the years, Bollywood has given us some great content and also some true world-class actors who have proved their mettle with their work. Today, we will take a look at Bollywood actors who have been conferred with a Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India.

Bollywood actors who have received the Padma Shri Award

1. Sridevi

Firstup, we have Sridevi opening the list. Sridevi, who is regarded as the “first female superstar” of Indian cinema received the Padma Shri award in 2013.

2. Aamir Khan

Second, on the list is Aamir Khan, the actor received the Padma Shri in 2003. Over the years Aamir has acted, produced and directed several of his own films as well as others. These films have gone on to become extremely successful ventures.

3. Helen

Helen, the dancing diva was feted with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009. But this honour came a little late in the actress’s life. Helen known for her stylised cabaret numbers has appeared in over 700 films.

4. Rekha

Rekha is known for playing strong female characters, she has won many awards for her roles in movies like Khubsoorat, Khoon Bhari Maand and Umrao Jaan. She won the Padma Shri in 2010.

5. Hema Malini

Hema Malini, known as the dream girl, was awarded the Padma Shri award in the year 2000. She has been one of the highest-paid actresses from 1974 to 1980.

6. Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan was honoured with the Padma Shri award 1984. In addition, he has also been lionised with Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan too. Mr. Bachchan has been acting in films for more than four decades now.

7. Karan Johar

The “Dharma – guru” was recently awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to cinema. He has also produced several critically – acclaimed films like, ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, ‘Kapoors & Sons’ and ‘Raazi’.

8. Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut, the three-time National Award Winner, received the coveted Padma Shri this year. Kangana made her debut in 2006 with ‘Gangster’, and is regarded as one of the most successful female artists of this generation. After a series of films with Mahesh Bhatt’s banner, she found success with Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, for which she won her first National Film Award in 2009.

9. Paresh Rawal

The actor-comedian has been a part of several hit Bollywood films such as Hera Pheri, Andaz Apna Apna, Welcome, Hungama and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. He received the Padma Shri in 2014.

10. Tabu

Tabu was honoured with the Padma Shri in the year 2011. She has given many critically acclaimed performances such as ‘Maqbool, ‘Cheeni Kum’, ‘Haider’ and the 2018 release ‘Andhadhun’.

11. Kajol

Kajol, who has given some iconic performances in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baazigar and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, was awarded with the Padma Shri in the year 2011.

12. Irrfan

Irrfan, who was awarded the Padma Shri in 2011, has been critically acclaimed for many of his roles in movies such as Haider, Piku, Talvar, Paan Singh Tomar, Maqbool and The Lunchbox.

13. Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has starred in more than 100 films since the ’90s and today is one of the most successful actors in the industry. He received the Padma Shri award in the year 2009.

14. Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan, who rose to fame with iconic roles in movies such as Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho and Omkara, won the Padma Shri in 2004.

15. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya is one of the most successful actresses and winner of the 1994 Miss World Pageant; she was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in the year 2009.

16. Madhuri Dixit

The Dhak – Dhak girl, who was one of the highest-paid actresses from the late ’80s to the early 2000s, was conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2008.

17. Shah Rukh Khan

And finally, it’s King Khan. Shah Rukh Khan has given top-notch performances in movies like Devdas, Chak De India, ‘Swades’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge’. He received the Padma Shri in 2005.
