Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami is an important Hindu festival that is observed to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna. Vishnu took the avatar of Krishna in his eighth avatar. As per Hindu calendar, the festival is celebrated on the eighth day (ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha. The celebrations have started and people are busy decorating the temples to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna.
