Dilip Kumar
Late veteran filmmaker Satyajit Ray had described Dilip Kumar as ‘the ultimate method actor’. Till today, he is known as the ‘Tragedy King’ among his countless admirers. It would be more than a challenge to make a biopic on this thespian artist, and even tougher for any actor to portray the correct nuances and set of emotions lived by him on silver screens. But, definitely, Ranbir Kapoor is one who stands a chance to play his part that too with equal perfection. We can only imagine that how Ranbir would say those iconic dialogues of Dilip Kumar and especially one of them being, “Ae bhai, koi hai.”
Raj Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor is the most thought about name when it comes to a biopic on his grandfather and veteran actor-filmmaker, the showman, Late Raj Kapoor. Not just the last name, but the two share the talented gene pool that runs in the family. There's no doubt that Ranbir would be the ideal choice to play Raj Kapoor on screen, if ever a biopic on him is in offing.
Ranbir Kapoor as Mehmood
Referred as the King of Comedy, late veteran actor-filmmaker Mehmood made people laugh with his unmatched comic timing. Till today, his acting influence makes a deep impression and looks evident in the comic styles of those like Govinda, Sajid Khan, Johny Lever, Ritesh Deshmukh and many more. Mehmood was one of the few artistes in Bollywood who went on to develop their own style of comedy. In fact, at the peak of his career the actor was paid more than the film’s hero due to his instant connect with the viewers. His is a story which deserves to be told and who better than Ranbir to step into the shoes of the late actor, to make us all double up in laughter? One can only imagine him grooving to the tunes of 'Hum Kaale Hain To Kya Hua'.
Rajesh Khanna
Late actor Rajesh Khanna was referred to as the first superstar of Indian cinema. He entered the film industry through an All India Talent contest which was followed by a stupendous rise to stardom and the witnessing of a mass hysteria unlike anything that had ever been seen for any other actor in the period of early 70’s. However, there was once a phase where his stardom fell, and eventually even left him completely, but his legacy was one which was hard to be fulfilled. Ranbir will be a fine choice to enact Rajesh Khanna's life on screen.
Shah Rukh Khan
No introduction is needed as superstar Shah Rukh Khan is still ruling over Bollywood and hearts of his fans as the undisputed King of Romance. His story from being a commoner to becoming one of the most successful men is more than an inspiration for everyone who follow and chase their dreams to turn them into reality. From SRK’s presence and star power to his humility and down to earth nature is something that deserves to be told on the silver screens. Ranbir has been often seen mimicking SRK while hosting some of the popular Bollywood awards show. His striking resemblance to SRK’s early days also makes him an ideal choice to play the superstar on screen.
Ranbir Kapoor is making headlines these days with his incredible transformation for playing actor Sanjay Dutt in the biopic on his life. The actor has been undergoing a tough physical training, which has started to show its results. Ranbir has even brought about a change in his body language, to match that of Dutt’s. Looking at his dedication, the expectations of the fans are surely rocket-high. However, do you know that before taking up the part of Sanjay Dutt in this biopic, he was ready to take up the role of Kishore Kumar in a biopic which was to be helmed by Anurag Basu.

Ranbir was also found suitable to get into the skin of the character of late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, father of actor and Ranbir’s brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan. Though there are not any official plans to make a biopic on late Tiger Pataudi (as he was fondly called), but Saif had once stated in an interview to a leading daily where he had been quoted saying, “Amma (Sharmila Tagore) feels Ranbir (Kapoor) can. Yes, he has a long face like my father but I don’t think he likes cricket.” [sic]
