We have welcomed the New Year on Saturday and the audience is eagerly waiting for a few films that are yet to release. Due to the pandemic, there were several films that faced a delay in their release. With the theatres back in action, in most parts of the country, there are a few highly-anticipated Bollywood movies scheduled to release in 2022. As we welcomed the New Year, here is a list of a few Bollywood movies to look forward to in 2022.

Jersey

The film features Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. It was scheduled to release on December 31, in theatres. However, the release date was postponed. The movie is based on the Telugu film of the same title.

RRR

The S S Rajamouli-directed film stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on January 7. However, the release date of RRR was postponed by the makers, due to the shutting down of theatres amid the spike in COVID cases.

Prithviraj

The period war drama features Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar. The movie is scheduled to release on January 21.

Gangubai Kathiawadi

Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar is scheduled to hit theatres on February 25, 2022. The movie also features Arjun Reddy actress Shalini Pandey. The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Shamshera

The film features Ranbir Kapoor and it will be his first after 2018 movie Sanju. The film will hit theatres on March 18, 2022. Shamshera is directed by Karan Malhotra and features Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt too.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

The film is slated to release on March 25, this year. It features Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in a key role. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the sequel to the Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan film Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Dhaakad 

The film features Kangana Ranaut as Agent Agni. Dhaakad directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. It is scheduled to release on April 8.

Laal Singh Chaddha

The film features Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. It also stars Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. Laal Singh Chaddha is set to hit theatres on Baisakhi 2022. The release date is April 14.

Vidya Balan’s Untitled Romantic Comedy Drama

The film, a progressive, uninhibited take on modern relationships, marks Applause’s foray into the big screen experience and this second collaboration with Ellipsis (after the Tahira Kashyap Khurrana-directed Sharmajee Ki Beti). It promises to be 2022’s ultimate date movie. This big-budget multi starrer romantic film boasts of an exciting cast comprising of Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Hollywood’s Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Ileana D’cruz. The dramedy is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. This is the first time that Vidya and Pratik will be seen together in a film, and also the most unique quartet casting one has ever heard of!
