Keep your friends close and enemies closer!
We've all heard of the common phrase 'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer'. SLB's 'Padmaavat' stays true to this saying as the evil Khilji extends a hand of friendship towards Maharawal Ratan Singh with an attempt to understand his pysche better and defeat him easily. So yes, in real life too, you could consider befriending your enemies, because you never know when you may need them.
It’s all about usools!
'Padmaavat' glorifies Rajput culture and how! The King Ratan Singh is such a stickler for his usools that he misses out on two lucrative opportunities to behead Khilji. You ask why? Because his 'usools' don't allow him to kill an invited guest and a wounded man, even though it is his worst enemy standing in front of him. While, one wouldn't want to relate to this ideology in today's times, his larger-than-life usools are something rarely people stick to when it comes to following their own. So, how about going the usool way in reality?
Nothing is impossible to achieve!
In the movie, Khilji was shown to be an extremely cruel man, a savage, barbarian, whatever you may choose to call him. However, one quality of his that you can imbibe is his focus and thirst to achieve his goals. While, we are all aware that his major goal was to see Rani Padmavati, his never-say-die spirit and tenacity to chase her is something very rare in real life. So, you see, Khilji's passion gave out an important lesson that if you set your heart on something, it's not impossible to achieve it.
Payback time!
If Ratan Singh was a stickler for his usools, wife Padmavati was a smart lady who knew to seek revenge from the wrongdoer. Ratan Singh's mentor who turns out to be a traitor gets the lesson of his life from Ranisa who gets him killed by the hands of her biggest enemy Khilji. What a wonderful way to seek revenge right? How about you implementing some of these mean ways to defeat your foes?
Never underestimate the power of a woman
Wait, we aren't going the feminist way, but clearly, Rani Padmavati was smarter than Ratan Singh who was more interested in adhering to his rules. While, Ratan Singh missed out on 3 opportune moments to kill Khilji, Rani Padmavati came up with a smart plan to rescue her husband from the clutches of the evil Khilji. So yes, even though women of that era didn't have a say infront of their man, Padmavati did find her way out when it came to strong decision-making and smart way. So, to all the men out there, pay heed to a lady's decisions.
Enough of controversies and debates over the historical inaccuracy and heart-wrenching depiction of jauhar. It’s time for some gyaan.
