Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s Love Story: From rumoured couple to husband & wife, it was a true fairytale

Venkatesh Prabhu aka Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have called off their marriage as they announced their divorce in an official statement. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa were married for 18 long years and now they have decided to go their separate ways. A beautiful love story has come to an end and the fans are left heartbroken. Speaking about the love story of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa, it all began when the two met for the first time in a cinema hall.

Reports say Dhanush and Aishwarya crossed paths due to the film ‘Kadhal Konde’ which the Raanjhanaa actor had gone to watch with his family. Also present at the location was Rajinikanth’s daughters Aishwaryaa and Soundarya. The cinema owner then introduced Dhanush to the sisters, the duo exchanged pleasantries. Aishwarya had congratulated Dhanush on his performance. The next day, it is said that the Shamitabh actor received a bouquet from Aishwaryaa congratulating him. Dhanush appreciated her gesture, but that was about it. Post that rumours of the two datings spread like wildfire and the whole nation was whispering about the new rumoured couple on the block.

However, Dhanush had even gone on record and refuted all rumours. He had said that Aishwarya is just his sister’s friend and nothing else. Fate had other plans after all.

Their parents however thought that Dhanush and Aishwarya actually will make for a good pair. Soon, a meeting of the two families was arranged and well the rest is a fairytale.

Not many know that Dhanush was merely 16 years old when he had decided that he will be married before turning 23. Well, things happened soon as he tied the knot with Aishwaryaa when he was 21. But soon came the backlash as many felt Dhanush and his wife were a total mismatch given their age gap. Aishwarya was two years older than Dhanush.

Talking about her relationship with Dhanush, Aishwaryaa had told JFW, “The best thing about our relationship is the fact that we give each other plenty of space. Neither of us believes in changing for the other person just because we want to be together. When you are in your mid-20ss your mind is set in terms of what you believe in and it is very hard to change yourself.”

The duo are proud parents to two adorable sons. But they called off their 18-year long marriage in an official statement that read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other.. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with it. Much love always to you all ? God speed.”
