Dhanush-Aishwaryaa to Naga Chaitanya-Samantha: South celeb separations that broke our hearts

Celebrity divorces have often left many in shock. The celebrity couples part ways and leave fans disheartened with their decision. The entertainment industry down South has had the best track record for the most long-term marriages. From Suriya-Jyothika, Mahesh Babu-Namrata Shirodkar to many others; these couples are goals. However, in the recent past, there have been a few celebrity couples from down South that left us in shock with their decision to separate. Only recently, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa took to Twitter to announce their separation. Dhanush and Aishwaryaa released an official statement.

With Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth announcing their decision to go separate ways, here are a few South celebs who called it quits.

The Atrangi Re actor released a statement on Monday, January 17, announcing his separation with wife Aishwaryaa. Rajinikanth’s daughter also issued an official statement. They parted ways after 18 years of togetherness.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Popularly known as Chay and Sam, this couple left everyone in shock after they announced their separation last year, after four years of togetherness. They tied the knot in Goa and announced their divorce on October 2, 2021.

Rashmika Mandanna and Rakshit Shetty

The Pushpa actress met Shetty and fell in love on the sets of Kirik Party. They got engaged in 2017, but called off their engagement soon later.

Rajinikanth’s younger daughter tied the knot with industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar in 2010. They parted ways in 2017. Soundarya is currently married to Vishagan Vanangamudi and they are parents to son Ved Krishna.

Akhil Akkineni and Shriya Bhupal

Nagarjuna’s younger son, actor Akhil Akkineni got engaged to Shriya after dating her for two years, in December 2017. They broke off their engagement shortly after. Bhupal went on to tie the knot in July 2018.
