‘Bombay Talkies’ (2013)
'Bombay Talkies' is a 2013 Indian anthology film consisting of four short films, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. The story directed by Dibakar is an adaptation of Satyajit Ray's short story 'Patol Babu, Film Star' and had Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role.
‘Shanghai’ (2012)
'Shanghai' is a 2012 Indian political thriller film starring Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and based on the French film 'Z' and a novel by the same name by Vassilis Vassilikos. After a gap of 20 years, this was the first Hindi, rather Indian film to be screened in Baghdad. It was critically acclaimed there, exceeding gross expectations.
‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ (2010)
This is a 2010 anthology film produced by Alt Entertainment. It was one of the first movies shot entirely on digicam in India and was presented in the found footage style. The film is a satire on the way television news media has been turning into cheap entertainment, feeding social voyeurism without taking any significant moral or ideological stance. Critics applauded the unique filming style, acting, realistic story and superb editing.
‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ (2008)
'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' is a Bollywood black comedy film starring Abhay Deol, Paresh Rawal, Neetu Chandra, Manu Rishi, Richa Chadda, Manjot Singh and Archana Puran Singh. The film is inspired by the real life shenanigans of Devinder Singh alias Bunty, a real-life “super-chor”, originally from Vikaspuri, Delhi. Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! received positive critical acclaim. The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film.
‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ (2006)
The movie 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' released in the year 2006 and marked the directorial debut of Dibakar Banerjee. It had an ensemble cast starring Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Parveen Dabbas, Tara Sharma and late actor Navin Nischol. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi for 2006. It was remade into Tamil in 2008 as 'Poi Solla Porom' and also unofficially inspired a Kannada film 'Rame Gowda vs Krishna Gowda'. This comedy movie had an unusual storyline and was hugely appreciated.
