Dilip Kumar

One of the most heartbreaking moments for the nation and the film industry was when we lost a true acting legend, Dilip Kumar. He was known as the ‘Tragedy King’ on the big screen and was also the former Member of Parliament. Dilip Kumar passed away on July 7, at the age of 98. Kumar was survived by his actress wife Saira Banu.

Sidharth Shukla

Another shocking loss for the nation was the death of Sidharth Shukla who was one of the most loved actors on television. He was part of hit shows like Balika Vadhu, Dil Se Dil Tak and he had bagged the trophy of the show Bigg Boss 13. Sidharth Shukla passed away on September 2 after he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Puneeth Rajkumar

Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on October 29. He was one of the most loved actors in the nation and the southern film industry. It is said that he had suffered a cardiac arrest while he was working out. He was rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last in the ICU.

Ghanshyam Nayak

Veteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak who was best known for his role of Nattu Kaka one of the hit shows on television Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah passed away in October. Nayak was in his 70s and was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Surekha Sikri

Surekha Sikri was one of the most celebrated actresses in the industry. She was a three-time National Award-winning actress. She passed away in July after she suffered a cardiac arrest. The Balik Vadhu actress was 75 years old and she was battling multiple health complications for quite some time. Sikri had suffered a brain stroke in September last year.

Rajiv Kapoor

Actor-director Rajiv Kapoor, who was the son of filmmaker-actor Raj Kapoor, passed away in February. He was 58 years old. He had made his acting debut in 1983 with the movie Ek Jaan Hain Hum. Rajiv suffered a cardiac arrest and he breathed his last on February 9.
