‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ (1993)
'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' was a comedy film that featured actors Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in lead roles. The movie was a hit amongst the audiences and earned Filmfare Best Actress Award for Juhi Chawla and 4 more Filmfare trophies.
‘Sadak’ (1991)
'Sadak' was a romance thriller film that starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles. The film is the second highest grosser of the year 1991 and the seventh highest grossing Hindi film of the 90s decade with a spectacular musical score. Actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar bagged a Filmfare award for Best Villain.
‘Dil Hai Ke Manta Nain’ (1991)
'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin' was a romance drama that starred Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles. It was an unofficial remake of the 1934 Hollywood film 'It Happened One Night' and turned out to be a box office success kickstarting Pooja Bhatt's career.
‘Aashiqui’ (1990)
'Aashiqui' is a musical romance drama that was much appreciated for its soundtrack. The movie featured actors Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal and Deepak Tijori. The film was tagged as an all-time blockbuster and the soundtrack was rated amongst the '100 Greatest Bollywood Soundtracks' by a leading Bollywood channel. The movie earned 4 Filmfare awards for Best Music director, Best Male and Female singers and Best lyricist.
‘Daddy’ (1989)
'Daddy' marked the debut of Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Pooja Bhatt. The film had some fabulous performances by actors Anupam Kher and Manohar Singh. The movie earned 3 filmfare trophies for Best Actor, Best Debut and Best Dialogue.
‘Saaransh’ (1984)
'Saaransh' helmed by Mahesh Bhatt marked the debut of Anupam Kher. Kher played the role of an old man even though he was quite young at the time, and he was just splendid. The movie earned Filmfare Award for Best Story and was also chosen as India's official entry for the 1985 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, where it wasn't nominated.
‘Arth’ (1982)
The movie 'Arth' was written and directed by Mahesh Bhatt and it dealt with his extramarital affair with yesteryear actress Parveen Babi who had committed suicide. The movie had a powerhouse star cast of Shabana Azmi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Smita Patil, Raj Kiran and Rohini Hattangadi. It earned two filmfare awards, for best dialogue and best actress to Shabana Azmi. In fact, the movie is amongst the 25 Must See Bollywood Movies in a well-known portal.
