Radhika Apte shed her inhibitions as she portrayed the bold character of Tripti who has no hang-ups about her own past and is very open-minded. Although, this movie also had two other actresses Sai Tamhankar and Veera Saxena, Radhika surely stole the show.
‘Ahalya’ (2015)
'Ahalya' is a Bengali short film directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starred Radhika Apte in the main role of Ahalya. The actress went for a no makeup look and still added oomph with her natural performance.
‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man’ (2015)
This movie was a biopic on a poor labourer known as Dashrath Manjhi, also known as the mountain man. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the mountain man and Radhika Apte as his wife were simply superb in their performances. Radhika's act as a motivational factor in the life of her husband was much appreciated.
‘Parched’ (2015)
This movie directed by Leena Yadav revolves around the lives of four women living an unwanted life in a village of north-western region of India. Radhika Apte as Lajjo was a class-apart in her natural performance of a troubled wife of an alcoholic husband.
‘Phobia’ (2016)
'Phobia' may not have broken records at the box office but is surely touted as Radhika's best performance till date. This psychological thriller, saw Radhika in a never seen before role, that of a woman suffering from an anxiety disorder Agoraphobia. She gave a spellbinding performance which is sure to scare the daylights out of you.
Though Radhika Apte is known for the controversial and bold subjects that she chooses in films, but we cannot deny the fact that she is amazingly stupendous in all the roles she chooses to portray. Her performances are a treat to watch, for any lover of cinema, for she is one actress who can go to any length, to do complete justice to her role.
