From getting filmed naked to Ranbir saying no to ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’; Ranveer Singh bares it all

"Main to ainvayi ainvayi ainvayi ainvayi lut gaya"; this quirky song from Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh's 'Band Baajaa Baaraat' had made us groove insanely and looks like just like the song, this film landed had landed in Ranveer's kitty just 'ainvayi ainvayi'. It was at News18 Rising India Summit that Ranveer made this revelation. Initially this film was offered to Ranbir Kapoor but as he rejected the film, Ranveer bagged the opportunity. Not just that he made many other revelations too.

On Band Baaja Baarat

Ranveer stated, “Ranbir Kapoor said no to 'Band Baaja Baraat'. YRF was looking for a new face I got a call and I knew this was the opportunity I was waiting for. I kept my face safe and didn’t do modeling or music videos. And then I got a massive launch, essentially for an ‘outsider’, opposite a reasonably recognisable star Anushka Sharma."

On Padmaavat controversy

"It was a very frustrating process because none of this was in my control. It was hugely infuriating. It had left me full of rage and wanting to act out. Wanting to say and wanting to do something about what I was seeing which I thought was absolutely wrong. "But I couldn't do anything. Moreover, I was asked not to do anything... I wasn't leading the line to fight back. It was the producers and my producer-director. I had to respect what they asked me categorically to do which is 'you please stay out of it. You don't say anything. Anything you say will get picked up. This matter is going to get worse... Please control your emotions."

On his relationship with Deepika Padukone

"I think it’s a relationship of mutual admiration. Though, I rate her high on acting, and she doesn’t. There’s a lot to learn from her. She is amazing and I am blessed to have her in my life."

When he was asked for a selfie while peeing

"I can look at the crowd and immediately say who the real fans are and who are the rowdy ones. Once somebody approached me for a selfie while I was peeing! You learn a lot from people like Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan. Mobile phones have made it very difficult. You don't know when somebody is filming you. ‘We are the last of movie kids, you not so much’, SRK said to me."

"Once I was getting out of the bathroom in the dressing room and there was this guy filming me while I was buck naked. I ran across and grabbed the phone, while I was naked and deleted the video immediately. It goes to such extents. But I know my fans from mischief-makers."
