Happy Birthday Yash Chopra: Five of his most memorable films

Kabhie Kabhie (1976)

'Kabhi Kabhie' was Yash Chopra's second directorial film with Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. The film is also one of Yash Chopra's favourite films. The story is about romance between two generations. It had evergreen music by Khayyam and poetry by Sahir Ludhianvi. It was the 8th highest grossing film of that year at the box-office.

Silsila (1981)

Yash Chopra's films not only showcased love and romance, they also depicted infidelity. 'Silsila' is one such movie that showed adultery and the movie was allegedly on the real-life triangle of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha.

Lamhe (1991)

'Lamhe' was one of the Yash Chopra's finest films. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi's performances were applauded in India as well as abroad. It is considered one of the most romantic films ever in Indian cinema.

Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997)

This multi-starrer movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumaris all about love and music. In fact, the film was a romantic musical hit. The movie won many awards and accolades and Yash Chopra again proved that he is truly the king of romance.

Veer Zaara (2004)

'Veer-Zaara' is a tale of love and sacrifice. The movie redefined love. It was the comeback movie for Yash Chopra after  'Dil To Pagal Hai'. 'Veer-Zaara' bagged the Most Popular Film award at the National Film Awards and the Best Movie award at the annual Filmfare Awards.
