For Anurag Kashyap!
The director of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, Anurag Kashyap, has donned the hat of a villain his film and what a villain he makes! We saw the glimpse of his villain-giri in the trailer and he is damn impressive as an actor. It would be a delight to watch Anurag throwing some killer on-liners and showing off his wicked side in the film.
For the message!
It may be a fictional story, but ‘Akira’ surely sends a strong message for all the females out here. Females do need to stand up for themselves and get fighting against all the injustice done to them. There would be no saviour until we take charge! Girl power to its fullest, ‘Akira’ is one film that every girl needs to watch.
For the director!
‘Akira’ is being helmed by ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss. He is the director who has films like ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Holiday’ to his credit. The track record AR Murugadoss is quite good and even with ‘Akira’ it seems that he will not disappoint us.
For the Plot!
‘Akira’ is a remake of a famous Tamil film ‘Mouna Guru.’ Starring Arulnidhi and Iniya, ‘Mouna Guru’ was a super hit down South. Twist here is that the Tamil film had a male protagonist who faced unfortunate situations while fighting for justice. Director AR Murugadoss has twisted the story for its Bollywood version and has brought a female protagonist to fight against all odds. This twist itself makes the story interesting!
For Sonakshi Sinha!
Shotgun’s daughter is definitely not one of those actress who could proudly flaunt their delicate darling tag. In this film, we will actually see Sona getting away from the notion of Bollywood that heroines in the film need a hero to save them from the goons. Sonakshi may be a damsel in distress in the film, but she is also the one to take hold of the situation. She has fought with the goons, kicked them, punched them and has given them a good ‘Dhobipachad’ that they will remember for ages. Sona has worked hard on this one and her effort need not go in vain.
After a good time, Sonakshi Sinha will sizzle once again on-screen in the film called ‘Akira’. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is slated to make it to the theatres on September 2. Being a woman centric film, ‘Akira’ seems to have a good potential to entice the audience. Sonakshi, who is the only protagonist in the film, has worked hard to look like that action star who can kick the butt and beat the hell out off a goon like a professional.
