The Indian Super League team FC Pune City is currently owned by Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, Wadhawan Group and Italian football club ACF Fiorentina. Initially Salman Khan had shown interest in purchasing this team but later on he backed out due to sponsorship issues. This team did not do well in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League as it landed on the 6th position in the table.
John Abraham

Preity Zinta
Indian Premier League team Kings XI Punjab is jointly owned by Preity Zinta and Wadia Group’s Ness Wadia, Dabur’s Mohit Burman and Karan Paul. Kings XI Punjab had a great 1st season as they ended up as semi finalists. However after that they never were able to capitalise as in the next 5 years as they were knocked out in the League stage itself. Ranbir Kapoor
Indian Super League team Mumbai City FC is owned by Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, a young investor Kayque G. Saldanha and by Mumbai-based chartered accountant Bimal Parekh. The team did not perform well in the 1st season of the Indian Super League as they ended up almost at the bottom of the table (7th position).
Sohail Khan
Mumbai Heroes is a Franchise of the Celebrity Cricket League owned by Celesports Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture started by Sohail Khan, Vikas Kapoor, Jordy Patel and Adil Jagmagia in 2008. Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi bought the United Singhs team alongside The Hayre Group of UK and so is the partial owner of the team. United Singhs were crowned the World Kabaddi League champions after they beat the Khalsa Warriors 58-55 in the World Kabaddi League Finals.
Yo Yo Honey Singh
Yo Yo Honey Singh was one of the Bollywood celebrities to have purchased a Kabaddi Team in the World Kabaddi League (WKL) in 2014. However this team has come under the scanner of the governing council office of WKL. In 2014, Honey Singh’s team was suspended because he had not paid the players their fees and so the players had lodged a formal complaint with the governing council office of WKL.
Shah Rukh Khan
Indian Premier League former champions, Kolkata Knight Riders is owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment in partnership with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta from the Mehta Group. This is one of the only teams that has made profits every year since the time the Indian Premier League has started. This team has won the IPL title twice in 2012 and 2014. Akshay Kumar is the owner of the World Kabaddi League team Khalsa Warriors. Khalsa Warriors were the winners of the inaugural season of the World Kabaddi League.
