Abbas Tyrewala who was the dialogue writer of Ishkq In Paris movie of Priety Zinta filed case against her regarding non-payment of his work and cheque worth Rs 18.9 lakh, which he claimed to have bounced. Court issued non-bailable arrest warrant aganist Priety Zinta when she failed to appear in the court for the first time. Preity counter-accused Abbas Tyrewala of non-delivery of work on time and said that he involved media for publicity.

In march 2007, Preity Zinta was reportedly spotted of being in a relationship with Actor-Director-Producer Shekhar Kapur. The singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthy who is apparently Shekhar Kapur's ex-wife, cited Zinta as the cause of her divorce from Shekhar Kapur, because of their affair. After the continous accusation, Preity commented, "It is pitiful that I am bearing the brunt of someone else's paranoia (dillusion). She is clearly unstable and I wish her a speedy recovery." She issued a statement that she had met Shekhar Kapur only 5 times in 10 years and that he should step forward and clear her of the accusation. Thereafter, the controversy came to an end.
