Kim Taehyung to Cha Eun Woo: K-Drama actors who started out as K-pop Idols

Korean Dramas are taking over the world and they are a major part of the Hallyu wave along with Kpop. From The Heirs, Goblin, Boy Over Flowers to The Descendants of the Sun, the world can’t stop obsessing over these Korean dramas. But did you know that most of these K-Drama actors had started out as K-pop idols and solo singers?

Some of these actors have really long and successful idol careers before they entered the Korean drama space. Kim Taehyung aka V from BTS had the BTS ARMY hearing to see him in a K-drama before he finally signed Hwarang which also made us welcome the Wooga squad. Do Kyung-soo aka D.O from EXO was one of the lead singers of the band before he blew up the K-Drama space.

Kim Taehyujng is one of the frontmen on BTS and all fondly know him as V. BTS ARMY was very eager to see Taehyung in a drama given his love for acting that he has professed multiple times. V finally starred in Hwarang with Park Hyung Sik, Park Seo Joon which also gave us the lovely Wooga Squad.

Park Hyung-Sik

Park Hyung Sik can very effortlessly make you fall in love with his charm in any movie or drama. But Hyung Sik, who has been really good in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Juror, had started out as a K-pop idol and he was part of the band ZE:A.

Cha Eun-woo

Cha Eun Woo has made many hearts flutter with his boyish cahrm in K-dramas and movies. Eun Woo started out as member of the Kpop group named Astra. But he later movies to acting and starred in shows like Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, Gangnam Beauty and many more.

Park Jin Young

Park Jin Young is part of the Kpop group GOT7 and while he was loved there as well as the main vocalist, his fan following only doubled when he starred in shows like He is Psychometric and When My Love Blooms.

Ok Taecyeon

Ok Taeceyon is part of the much-loved boy band 2 pm. He had also released his Japanese album titled Taecyeon Special: Winter Hitori. But he did win our hearts after starring in shows like Bring It On, Ghost, Save Me and Vincenzo.

Do Kyung Soo has been the main vocalist of popular boy group EXO. He made his debut in Kdramas with the show 100 Days My Prince. He just came back from military service in January 2021.

Seo In-guk

Seo In Guk started out as a solo artist in a reality competition show Superstar K. But he then moved to be a leading man in shows like Shopaholic Louis, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes and Doom At Your Service.

Yook Sung-jae

We all have loved him as the God in Goblin, but Yook Sung-jae is also part of a band named BtoB. He played Yoo Deok-hwa in Goblin and kindhearted Han Kang-bae in Mystic Pop-up Bar.

Kim Seok-woo aka Rowoon started out as a member of the band SF9. The band name stands for Sensational Feeling Nine and it is surely seen in Rowoon’s characters in his dramas. Rowoon has starred in shows like Extraordinary You, Where Stars Land, About Time, School 2017, and Click Your Heart.
