Kamal Haasan Birthday Special: Unique roles he did so far
1. Chachi 420
I think almost every one of us has watched and remembers Chachi from Chachi 420 which was played by none other than Kamal Haasan. He has done several double role-based movies and this is also one of them. He portrayed two very unique, difficult, and contrasting characters. One was the role of a young loving father and another was that of an old woman. The film remains a cult classic and one can never get bored of the movie.

2. Dasavathaaram
He broke the record with this movie as he did not essay just one or two or three but ten roles in a single movie. All ten roles were unique and varied in terms of gender, background and age. The makeup was extensively done for each role and Kamal Haasan nailed it to perfection.
3. Vishwaroopam
The national award-winning actor again played two roles, one was of a classical dance teacher and another was of an undercover RAW agent and both the roles were poles apart, however, he completely did justice to them.
4. Anbe Sivam
In this movie too, he played the character of Nalla Sivam, who is a differently-abled person. In the movie, he had shared the screen space with R Madhavan. The movie didn’t do well at the box office, however, was loved by the critics. His look and role were quite tough but he pulled it out with finesse.
5. Hey Ram
The role Saketh Ram in the movie Hey Ram is another major character that he did in his career. The movie was a controversial one, where he played the role of a regular Hindu man who takes on the perpetrators for raping and killing his beloved wife. He looked again quite different from his other characters and completely nailed it too!
6. Indian
As mentioned Kamal Haasan has done several double roles-based movies and this is one of them and both the roles were so totally different and he went extra mile for the movie. And fans of the actor now cannot wait for Indian 2 which is underway. For the unversed, the Tamil-language vigilante action film was written and directed by Shankar and produced by A. M. Rathnam. The film was also dubbed in Hindi with the title Hindustani and the original drama was India’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards in 1996.
7. Alavandhan
Kamal Haasan, in this movie he again played two drastically different roles. He played a lean cop and also his heavily muscular mentally challenged brother. The physical change in body was challenging but not for Kamal, it seems. Fans equally loved and hated him for both the roles and the same proves that only he can get such a reaction.
