From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Katrina Kaif, and Kriti Sanon, there are many actresses who are currently ruling Bollywood. With each film that they do, the actresses continue to deliver best performances. Kareena, Priyanka, Katrina among other Bollywood actresses have a journey that’s remarkable and inspiring. Over the years, there have been times when the actresses have opened up about their struggling days. Some actresses have admitted that their journey as an actor wasn’t as easy ride. From facing rejections to getting replaced overnight, many times actresses have bared their heart out. Speaking of that, today, we’ve compiled a list of actresses including Kareena, Priyanka and Katrina who spoke about getting replaced in films.

Katrina Kaif: Katrina Kaif is one of the most successful stars in Bollywood. Katrina has delivered several hits in her career. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Katrina revealed she was replaced in John Abraham starrer Saaya. Katrina told us, “I got thrown out, not thrown out, I got kind of replaced in a film called Saaya which was an Anurag Basu film with John Abraham and Tara Sharma, after shooting one shot. Not one day but just one shot and at that time I thought that my life was over. I thought my career was over. It was a while ago.”

Shefali Shah: Shefali Shah is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. The actress was once replaced in a film. Recalling the incident, she told Bollywood Bubble, “I don’t know, someone would still sign me up for a project and I would get to know the next day that I’m no more in the show or a film. You never know. I don’t know how people function, I don’t think that incident had so much to do with me as much it has to do with the person who did it. Finally, you got cast is a bigger start, there was no debate in it and it is the director’s prerogative. All it required was somebody to make that call, I want the director to call and to say that ‘I’m sorry, or like XYZ works better for the film’ now that is human behaviour, that is the basic courtesy. So, that has nothing to do with me, it is with the person who actually behaves like that.” The actress added that she felt terrible and was hurt.

Kareena Kapoor: Kareena Kapoor has been a part of films like Omkara, Kurbaan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Singham Returns among others. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood. The actress once recalled being replaced for demanding equal pay. Speaking with Pinkvilla, Kareena had said, “I did demand a certain fee and I don’t think there is anything wrong in it. You put in equal amount of time and effort so obviously, you want a certain amount. Now there is a lot of discussion about pay disparity but when I said it earlier, no one really paid attention to it. Of course, if I have demanded something, I have been replaced but it is just that you don’t hear about it.”

Taapsee Pannu: Taapsee Pannu has proved her versatility as an actor by taking up challenging roles in movies. Taapsee has always been vocal about being replaced in films. She once shared she was replaced in a film because the ‘hero’s wife didn’t’ want her to be a part of it.

Kriti Sanon: Kriti is one of the talented stars in Bollywood. With hard work and talent, she has made it big in the industry on her own. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kriti had said, “There were many times when I gave auditions for a film where they were looking for a newcomer and they ended up going with a star kid or they ended up with already established actors, so that was disheartening. I was like why did you audition if you didn’t want to go with a newcomer.”

Priyanka Chopra: Priyanka Chopra is not just ruling Bollywood, but she’s also successfully carved a niche for herself in the West. Speaking with Pinkvilla, Priyanka once said, “I have been replaced and it has happened twice. Once, a co-actor told me, and once I read it in the newspaper. I went and cried to my father. ‘Why me?’ But then he told me, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ I just made sure to be excellent in my next film and learn the job well. Even if the film doesn’t do well, I want to make sure that what I do is excellent.”
