5 movie releases to look forward to in April 2023

Gumraah

The movie Gumraah stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy in key roles. Scheduled to released on April 7, the film is directed by Vardhan Ketkar. The movie also features Vedika Pinto, who plays Aditya’s love interest. And, Gumraah is touted to be the remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam.

August 16, 1947

The film August 16, 1947 is directed by NS Ponkumar and is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 7. It is based on an untold story of the pre-Independence era. The movie is a pan-India release and features Gautham Kartik, Pugaz, Richard Ashton and Revathy in key roles.

Shaakuntalam

Directed by Gunasekhar, Shaakuntalam features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role of Shakuntala. The actress will be seen opposite Dev Mohan, who is playing the role of Dushyanta. The movie is a Pan-India release, schedule to be out in theatres on April 14.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Produced by Salman Khan Films, the movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is slated to release theatrically on Eid 2023. The film feature Salman Khan and Pooja Hegde in key roles.

Ponniyin Selvan 2

The second part of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is all set to release on April 28. The film features Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban and Lal. The first instalment of the movie was released in September last year.
