The Indian music industry has had a difficult year so far as many renowned music personalities died this year. In the first half of 2022, many Indian singers left for their heavenly abode. From KK to Sidhu Moose Wala, check out the list of singers who bid us goodbye in 2022.
KK: Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died in Kolkata due to cardiac arrest on 31st May. His funeral took place in Mumbai on Wednesday. The shocking news of his death left music lovers heartbroken. The doctor who conducted the autopsy told PTI, “He had a major blockage in the left main coronary artery and small blockages in various other arteries and sub-arteries. Excessive excitement during the live show caused stoppage of blood flow leading to cardiac arrest that claimed his life.” The singer is now survived by his wife and children.

Lata Mangeshkar: India’s beloved nightingale and melody queen of Bollywood, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last in February. The legendary singer was 92. She passed away due to multiple organ failure. The singer was cremated with full state honours at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. Her ashes were immersed in the Godavari River at Ramkund, Nashik by her sister and nephew. The legendary singer will remain in hearts forever.

Bappi Lahiri: The ‘Disco King’ of Bollywood, Bappi Lahiri passed away on February 15. Bappi Da enjoyed a massive fan following. It’s been months, fans still remember the legendary singer. Apart from singing, Bappi Da was also popularly known for wearing gold chains and gold jewellery. The iconic singer had once revealed that he idolised American musician Elvis Presley and was inspired by him to wear multiple chains and jewellery. Bappi Da is survived by his wife and children.

Sidhu Moose Wala: Punjabi singer and Congress leader, Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead on 29th May in Punjab’s Mansa district. He was popularly known for his songs Legend and Barood. Several celebrities including Shehnaaz Gill, Munawar Faruqui, Prince Narula and Vicky Kaushal mourned his demise.
