Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 at the age of 92. The nightingale of India left behind inconsolable family friends and fans. The singer had earned Rs 25 through singing when she was 13. But has left behind net worth in the millions today.
According to a report by Trustednetworth.com, Lata Mangeshkar’s net worth is around 50 million USD, which is about 368 crores in Indian rupees. But some say that it is around 108-115 crores. Most of Lata Ji’s earnings came from the royalties of her songs and her investments. Reportedly the monthly income of the legendary singer was around Rs 40 lakh mainly through the royalty of her songs.

Along with this lavish South Mumbai home, Lataji was also a proud owner of luxury cars. The singer who was quite fond of cars had a great collection. She had bought a Chevrolet early in her career. Her garage at Prabhu Kunj also has a Buick, a Chrysler, and a Mercedes.

The Mercedes was a gift from Yashraj Studios. The late filmmaker Yash Chopra had gifted the car to Lata Mangeshkar during the release of Veer Zara. The singer had sung all the songs for the Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta starrer cross border romance.

Rumours abound that as Lata Mangeshkar has never married the property worth crores might be inherited by the singer’s brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar who was quite close to her. He had also performed the last rites of the iconic singer. But there is no official confirmation as to who inherits the property.

In her career spanning seven decades, Lata Mangeshkar sang more than 30,000 songs in a lot of Indian languages. She won three National Film Awards, Bharat Ratna. She is also the recipient of several other awards, including the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan and the Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
