‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’
In the film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, Sameer- Hawa ka jhokha aka Salman Khan is seen to have a strange habit of talking to his deceased father, looking at the sky. It is to be noted that Bhansali himself had this habit when he was a kid as he lost his father at a young age.
‘Devdas’
Chandramukhi aka Madhuri Dixit’s ghagra-choli for the song ‘Kaahe Chhed Mohe’ weighed about 30 kg. Due to this reason, despite giving her best performance, Madhuri couldn’t perform the classical dance. Later, the outfit was replaced with a new one that weighed 16 kg.
‘Black’
Both Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor assisted Bhansali on the sets of ‘Black’. They later became the lead pair of ‘Saawariya’. Ranbir also trained child actor Ayesha Kapur during that course.
‘Saawariya’
Based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s story- White Nights, ‘Saawariya’ is the first ever Bollywood film produced by a Hollywood production house, Sony Pictures.
‘Guzaarish’
With the film ‘Guzaarish’, Bhansali turned into a music director for the first time. In fact, he also gave a chance to some talented new lyricists in the film.
‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela’
During the shooting of song ‘Nagada Sangh Dhol’, Deepika Padukone wore a medical brace around her shoulder and back under her outfit to suppress the pain caused because of her heavy outfit and jewelry.
‘Bajirao Mastani’
The film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was Bhansali’s first historical film ever. Though ‘Devdas’ is believed to be one, the characters in the film were all fictitious. The script was almost ready but the director took over a decade to finalize the cast for the film i.e jumping from Salman Khan to Ajay Devgn and landing on to Ranveer Singh finally.
‘Padmaavat’
In the song ’Ghoomar’, Deepika Padukone donned a lehenga which weighed around 30 kg. The lehenga was purchased for Rs. 2 million approximately.
