Mahima Chaudhry to Sonali Bendre: Bollywood actresses who overcame cancer

On Thursday, Mahima Chaudhry shocked her fans as she revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The actress broke down into tears while talking about the same in a video posed by Anupam Kher. The veteran actor called Mahima a ‘HERO’. Speaking of that, here’s a list of actresses including Kirron Kher, Sonali Bendre to Chavi Mitthal, who opened up about their cancer diagnosis.

Mahima Chaudhry: Anupam Kher shared a video featuring Mahima and wrote, “Story of @mahimachaudhry1’s courage and Cancer: I called #MahimaChaudhry a month back from US to play a very important role in my 525^th film #TheSignature. Our conversation turned to her discovering that she has #BreastCancer.” He further called Mahima a ‘HERO’ and revealed that she is back on sets. He requested fans to send her love, wishes, prayers and blessings.

Sonali Bendre: Sonali Bendre is a cancer survivor. The actress was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018. In a recent interview with Mashable India, Sonali revealed that post her cancer surgery she was left with 23-24 inch scar. Sonali has always been vocal about beating cancer and also encourages others fighting the disease to be brave and strong.

Manisha Koirala: Manisha Koirala has been an inspiration to many out there. The actress, who has been a part of number of hit films, was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in 2012. She recovered from the disease a few years back. In 2018, Manisha also launched her autobiography Healed: How Cancer Gave Me A New Life.
