Riding on the success of his web series and films, talented actor Manoj Bajpayee is now busy shooting for his next in Uttarakhand. The actor, who turns a year older today, will be celebrating his working birthday in the hills once again. He is currently in Uttarakhand shooting for his next with director Ram Reddy.
He was born on April 23, 1969, in Belwa, a small village in West Champaran, Bihar and he aspired to become an actor from his childhood. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards and two Asia Pacific Screen Awards for Best Performance by an actor. In 2019, he was given India’s fourth-highest civilian honour Padma Shri for his contributions to art.

After playing some serious roles, Manoj Bajpayee was seen in a romantic role with Shyam Benegal’s Zubeidaa. He was charming in his role as Maharaja Vijayendra Singh, in which he shared screen space with two beautiful ladies Rekha and Karisma Kapoor. His performance was described as magical yet melancholic.
3. Pinjar (2003)
This is even Manoj Bajpayee’s favourite films as well as one of his best performances, according to him. In the movie, which was about Hindu-Muslim problems during the partition of India, he plays the role of an unsympathetic kidnapper who falls in love Puro, a character played by Urmila Matondkar. From a kidnapper to a loving husband, Manoj showcases his acting skills to the best. He won the Special Jury National Award for Pinjar. The film is based on a Punjabi novel of the same name, written by Amrita Pritam, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
4. Raajneeti (2010)
In a star-studded film Rajneeti, his performance as Veerendra Pratap /Duryodhana was very noticeable. So much so, that not just accolades but he won several whistles from the audience in the theatres. He showcased the shades of gray through his character. He was excellent in the movie and was the star performer of the movie.
5. Special 26 (2013)
Playing an honest and upright CBI officer in Special 26, Manoj Bajpayee proved his acting mettle yet again in this Neeraj Pandey film. His role was equal to that of Akshay Kumar, and he didn’t fail to make a mark with this one as well. He is so natural with his acting skills that audiences automatically associate themselves with the roles he plays. His laughter in the climax scene of the film is the standout in the movie.
