Television actress cum model Mouni Roy was born on 28 September 1985 in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Her father, Anil Roy, a Cooch Behar Zilla superintendent and mother Mukti Roy is a theater artist. She completed her schooling till 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in Babuhat, Cooch Behar.
After dropping out from a mass communication course she soon moved to Mumbai to try her luck in the field of acting. Mouni started her TV career with 2007’s Ekta Kapoor produced drama serial ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and after working in shows like ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’, ‘Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq’, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, she finally found fame as Shivaya in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Naagin’. Now Mouni is all set to mark her Bollywood debut.

‘GOLD‘: Mouni Roy will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the biographical sports drama, that is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The story of the film is based on the inspirational tale of India’s gold medal victory at Olympics after gaining independence from the tyrannical rule of England. A Reema Kagti directorial, it will release on 15th August 2018. The former Indian National hockey team captain, Sandeep Singh, was signed to train the actors to improve their hockey skills.
‘BRAHMASTRA‘: The Ayan Mukerji directorial is a fantasy trilogy that is being produced by Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. The movie is set to hit theaters on August 15th, 2019.

‘ROMEO AKBAR WALTER‘: Mouni Roy to star as Bollywood hunk Actor John Abraham’s love interest in spy thriller ‘Raw: Romeo Akbar Walter’. The film will be shot in a 60-day start-to-finish schedule in parts of Gujarat, Srinagar, and Nepal. The thriller that is set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 is said to be inspired by true events. A Robbie Grewal directorial, it is produced by Dheeraj Wadhwan, Ajay Kapoor, Vanessa Walia, and Gary Grewal.
‘MADE IN CHINA‘: Mouni Roy will play Rajkummar Roa’s wife in Dinesh Vijan’s quirky comedy ‘Made in China’. The movie will revolve around a Gujarati couple and will go on floors in September. It will be filmed across Mumbai, Gujarat and China. The shoot of the Mikhil Musale directorial will start in September this year and is set to be released in 2019.
‘DABANGG 3‘: Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer hit franchise ‘Dabangg’ will soon be out with its third installment. The movie will be directed by Prabhudheva and star Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha in leading roles. Mouni will apparently have a cameo in the film but there has been no official confirmation of the same as yet.
