Gangs Of Wasseypur
This is a crime-based film co-written, produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap. Part 1 shows Nawaz as a boy in the shadow of his father, he comes of age as a gangster in the next part. Nawaz’s performance as a man seeking revenge was an excellent piece of performance.
Badlapur
In this film he plays a villain, but at the end he becomes a bigger hero than the hero himself (Varun Dhawan) Nawaz is outstanding in the film.
The Lunchbox
Nawaz and late Irrfan Khan worked together in the 2013 film The Lunchbox, among several other projects. Siddiqui’s performance is energetic and effortless in the film. He makes the character endearing and so believable.
Kahaani
This Sujoy Ghosh thriller was probably Nawaz’s big ticket to stardom. In the character of deputy inspector general Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was a natural. His portrayal of a police officer is definitely different and the performance was received very well by the audience and the critics.
Thackeray
Nawaz names ‘Thackeray’ as his favourite role in recent years. Released in 2019, the film was criticised for glorifying Bal Thackeray’s exclusionist politics. But no one can miss Nawaz’s excellent body language and dialogue delivery in the film.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born in 1974 in Budhana, a village in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer and he had nine siblings. There was no theatre in his village. For the closest movie experience, he had to travel 20 km. This is one of the main reasons for him not watching many films.
