So one of the most awaited festivals of Raksha Bandhan is finally here. Yes, everyone eagerly waits for this festival after all who doesn’t love receiving gifts? We all do right? And if you are thinking that only girls receive gifts on Raksha Bandhan then you are wrong. Because these days siblings believe in buying gifts for each other (I don’t know about you but I do buy one for my brother).
And gone are the days when we used to tie Rakhis only on brother’s wrist. These days even sisters are tying Rakhi to each other. In fact, I even tie Rakhi to my father, brother and sister. Because when it comes to protecting and loving your dear ones nothing else matters.
Bollywood has always provided the viewers with some really refreshing take on the bittersweet relationship brother and sisters share. As siblings are someone you can’t live with or without.
So celebrate this Raksha Bandhan by watching the following films with your siblings. And yeah you can thank us later
Badhaai HoÂ
This film that took everyone by surprise last year, is indeed one of the best films to have come out of Bollywood in recent times. And if you have watched this film, then you will know what a great bond Ayushmann shared with his younger brother (played by Shardul Rana). These two brothers are so embarrassed with their mother’s pregnancy that they come together to help each other face the situation. Ayushmann even goes to his brother’s school to stop the bullies from harassing his kid brother. This is what big brothers are for…isn’t it?
PataakhaÂ
Just as explained in this film’s trailer, siblings are like India and Pakistan. Born out of the same mother but never able to stand each other. And this film showcase, these two warring sisters neither can live with each other or without each other. This is a terrific film and you should definitely watch it your brother or sister as it is totally worth it.
Dil Dhadakne Do
Another sweet film which though has several stories inter-connected. And one of these stories is that highlighting how Ranveer and Priyanka are always there for each other. Together they form a team and if needed they even go against their parents. That’s the way you stand up for your siblings. Don’t you guys agree?
Udaan
This Rajat Barmecha starrer will leave you teary-eyed with the way it has portrayed his concern for his half-sibling. Yes, they are not even real brothers but the way Rajat rescues his kid brother from the clutches of their draconian father is commendable. This is a special film which you should definitely watch with your sibling.
Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na
‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ film is special for several reasons and one of them is the bond Aditi (Genelia) shared with her brother (played by Prateik Babbar). That one scene these two shares in the film is so touching that it will instantly make you emotional. You care for your siblings that’s true but only when they are about to leave you that you are able to appreciate their presence more.
Queen
Rani has a kid brother Chintu who instantly knows if she is happy or sad. The kid is too young to understand the ways of the heart but when it comes to his sister’s happiness he will not leave any stone unturned. Now what could be more endearing than this?
Bumm Bumm Bole
Adapted from Oscar-nominated Iranian film ‘Children of Heaven’, ‘Bumm Bumm Bole’ is a heartwrenching film where a young brother and sister are trying to make the best of what they have. Poverty and money have nothing to do with innocence and this film showcases the extent one can go for their siblings.
