On her eight month sabbatical!
In the interview she revealed how she sat at home without any work only because she wanted substantial work in Bollywood. "I did some films that I didn't enjoy. That's when I realised that we actors have a huge responsibility towards our fans. I sat at home for eight months. I decided I'm not going to work till I get something I like. That's when 'Saathiya' happened and I realised the importance for an actor to do something they are excited about."
On working with her husband!
When asked to list the filmmakers she would love to work with, she said, "Firstly, I would love to work with my husband, I don’t think he wants to work with me. He just feels that on the first day on set we might just get into a fight and he might walk out and I will walk out and there’ll be no film. I’ve had the chance to work with great directors."
On being an egoistic actor!
When asked whether she would ever go and tell a filmmaker that she wants to work with him/her, she said, "No, I have never been that person. I know it is very cool for person to say that if I want to work with somebody, I would love to tell them that. I am not that person at all, I am too egoistic as an actor. I thrive on that. If I do not have an ego as an actor than I am not an actor. I want a director to come and tell me that 'I want you for this role and have written this with for you'. That's a high for me'."
On how Aditya Chopra dealt with the failure of ‘Befikre’!
'Befikre' was one big disaster that Aditya Chopra faced in his entire career. So when asked Rani if it was difficult for him to face such a failure, she exclaimed, "Of course. I think for anybody to see failure after string of successes would always be hard. But the best part of Adi is that is the most positive person I have known. As a professional I respect him a lot completely for the fact that he is very clear and he is one of the most positive people I have met in the industry. Not only his failure, when people in his company fail, he is the first man to stand behind them and give them a second chance."
Reason why she is not on social media!
Social media is important, but for Rani, it is her personal space that matters more. "I have chosen not to be on social media as I don’t think I am capable of doing that. I don’t think I am capable of posting my personal images or of my family’s. My images are all out there and people have the right to comment on it. But, I wouldn’t be comfortable posting a picture of my daughter or posting a picture of me saying I am chilling in my house."
