Rekha, born as Bhanurekha Ganesan to South superstar Gemini Ganesan and actress Pushpavalli, started working early in Telugu films as a child artist. She was fat, dusky and could not speak Hindi and had to face a lot of criticism when she marked her Bollywood debut in 'Sawan Bhado'.

She ensures that she eats the last meal of the day by 7.30 pm, so that her body gets enough time for digestion.
