FIRST Meeting!

Richa and Ali met on the sets of the 2012 movie Fukrey for the very first time. They worked together in the film and won hearts. Ali and Richa became friends first, before they fell in love. Their love blossomed from there on. As per reports, the couple started dating in 2015 and went official with their relationship in 2017.

Can’t stop falling in love..

Richa Chadha had once mentioned when she said ‘I love you’ and expressed her feelings to Ali. The actress revealed it was when they were watching the movie Chaplin, featuring Robert Downey Jr. She said she was happy to see Ali enjoy the movie and was glad that they have similar tastes. Talking about the same, the actress said, “This is really sweet, I love you.”

Movies together 

The bride and groom-to be featured in two movies, Fukrey and Fukrey Returns. Their characters in the movie were seen pitted against each other. The actors were supposed to be a part of the third part of the franchise even. However, due to other work commitments, Ali will reportedly not be a part of Fukrey 3.

The Proposal..

Richa had spilled the beans on how Ali proposed to her for marriage. Chadha revealed Ali planned a romantic dinner during their Maldives trip. She mentioned how Ali popped the question to her when they were sipping champagne. In an interview with Bride’s Today interview, the actress said, “He had planned a romantic dinner on a small, secluded island in the Maldives. I thought it was for my birthday – I didn’t suspect a thing. We had finished eating and were sipping on champagne when Ali, being his spontaneous self, asked me to marry him. He didn’t go down on his knee, nor did he have a ring, but that’s all right. After that he took a 10-minute long nap on the sand – I think it was because he may have been stressed about the proposal.”

Seal the deal!

Richa and Ali were set to tie the knot in April 2020. However, things did not fall in place when the Coronavirus pandemic took over countries. About two years ago, in a chat session on Instagram, one fan of the couple asked Chadha about the wedding date. She reacted to it. And, in her reply, the actress wrote, “Haha! You have time to make a play for him. 2020 isn’t gonna let us marry.”
