Deepika, Anushka and Kangana Ranaut
Yes, all the divas in the above picture are dressed in Sabyasachi Mukherjee pieces and they look exquisite in those. He is the magician we all know, and his craft is truly beautiful. But does his latest remark on Indian woman, make any sense? So while addressing students at Harvard, Sabyasachi made a statement that it is shameful for an Indian women to not know how to drape a saree. To be precise, he had quoted, "I think, if you tell me that you do not know how to wear a saree, I would say shame on you. It’s a part of your culture, (you) need stand up for it." This has definitely sparked an outrage on Twitter, with quite a few ladies bashing him for this remark.
A difference in opinion!
Sabyasachi was trying to upheld how Indian Women are associated with sarees and how the young generation is getting away from its roots.
The Culture Gyaan
One of his statement was, "Women and men are trying very hard to be something that they are not. Your clothing should be a part of who you are and connect you to your roots."
The statement has backfired!
Though he was trying to assert more on the Indian culture, his opinion does not seem to be matching with the audience.
And one more…
Twitter has definitely gone mad over these remarks of Sabyasachi...
Make some logic!
Why are women the only ones to think about 'Culture'? A point well made!
Why should boys have all the fun?
It's time for equality, we guess!
Sabyasachi Mukherjee recently addressed students at Harvard India Conference, wherein he made a few statements on Indian women and culture. He said that if a lady does not know how to drape a saree than it is shameful. Twitteratis do not seem to be mighty impressed with this remark.
