The ‘Chalte Chalte’ fight

Once Salman Khan landed up on the sets of Aishwarya's film 'Chalte Chalte' and what followed was a bitter argument between the two. The fight was so aggressive that it could have turned into a physical one if Shah Rukh Khan hadn't intervened. The side-effect of this whole argument was that Aishwarya had to leave the project as the makers did not want any complication while shooting the film and Rani Mukerji was on board replacing Aishwarya.

The bitter break-up

Following all the arguments and fights, Aishwarya Rai finally called off all her ties with Salman Khan. She did not want to hurt her parents' sentiments by going against their will and hence, she called off the relationship. Later, a few reports said that Salman had cheated on her and that is why she distanced herself from the star. But, what followed this break-up was indeed shocking. Salman Khan used to physically abuse Aishwarya is what made reports suggested. This saga lingered over the gossip circles for quite sometime and then it was taken over by Salman Khan's 'hit and run' case.

When Cupid struck!

Salman Khan ruled the box office in 90s' while Aishwarya had already charmed everyone with her Miss Universe crown. Both the stars were headed for a blissful career and landed up playing the lead characters in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Cupid struck, Salman and Aishwarya drew close to each other and their chemistry looked marvellous on screen. At every event, at every function, the two used to make an entry together, tantalizing the gossip mongers with their sizzling bond.

Somy Ali’s departure

It is being said that Salman Khan was dating Somy Ali then when he grew close to Aishwarya Rai. In one of her interviews, Somy revealed that Aishwarya played the role of a 'third person' in their relationship leading to a bitter break-up. Salman was so fascinated with Aishwarya that he did not care about his reputation being changed to that of a playboy. Somy left the country post her break-up and Salman's relationship with Aishwarya reached its peak.

Parents’ objection!

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's relationship was out in the open and everyone knew about it. Aishwarya was then a frequent visitor at Khan's place and this didn't go unnoticed by the paparazzi. Noticing the growing closeness of their daughter to the superstar, Aishwarya's parents objected to this relationship. It is being said that Aishwarya's father Krishnaraj Rai was completely against this relationship. By this time, Salman wanted a marriage commitment from Aishwarya. The lady refused to do so as her parents were not happy and this is when their relationship went for a toss.

The 3 am ruckus!

Constant fights, drama and arguments became usual! A few reports say that once Salman landed up outside Aishwarya's residence late in the night to speak with her, but the lady refused to let him in. He banged the door till 3 am in the morning, his hands started bleeding and only then Aishwarya gave him an entry to her apartment.
