Shehzada, Ganapath, Great Indian Family: With 2023 ending, here are the Bollywood movies that turned out to be a disaster at the box office

In terms of box office, Bollywood saw some eventful and some disaster movies in 2023. From Pathaan, Jawan to Animal, these movies have done wonderfully at the box office. However, plenty of movies did not fare well at the box office despite having so much hope. Movies like Selfiee, Shehzada, Mission Raniganj and others were considered to collect good numbers at the box office. Unfortunately, none of them have fared well at the box office. 

As 2023 is coming to an end, we have clubbed together those Bollywood movies that were considered to be the biggest flops. As the movies are made on a certain budget, they failed to earn to recover the investment. We have mentioned those names that created buzz or had A-lister actors in it and still turned out to be unsuccessful.

Here are the Bollywood disaster movies of 2023

1. Kuttey

Arjun Kapoor headlined this action thriller which also starrer Kumud Mishra, Tabu and Konkona Sensharma. However, the film only collected Rs 4.05 crore at the box office towards a budget of Rs 35 crore.

2. Shehzada

Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 85 crores. But unfortunately, the movie only garnered Rs 32.50 crores at the box office. Fans were quite stoked to watch the movie after watching Blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

3. Selfiee

Even though it was an Akshay Kumar film, a reunion of Raj Mehta and Akshay and it had Emraan Hashmi, the film failed to impress. Reportedly, the film was made with a budget of Rs 100 crore and it earned Rs 16.50 crore at the box office.

4. Bheed

Rajkummar Hirani and Bhumi Pednekar starrer was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 35 crore and collected only Rs 2 crores at the box office.

5. Gumraah

Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer was an action thriller that was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 25 crore. In terms of box office collection, Gumraah raked in Rs 4.90 crores.

6. Tejas

Kangana Ranaut’s movies have always done good business even though she headlines it singlehandedly. Nevertheless, Tejas which reportedly had a budget of Rs 60 crore earned only Rs 5.15 crore at the box office.

7. Khichdi 2

Supriya Pathak starrer was made on a reportedly budget of Rs 15 crores and earned Rs 4.50 crores at the box office.

8. Mission Raniganj

Being an Akshay Kumar movie, Mission Raniganj earned Rs 31 crores at the box office with a reportedly budget of Rs 55 crores.

9. Thank You For Coming

Thank You For Coming was based on a taboo subject which was a refreshing subject; however, it didn’t get the desired numbers. Reportedly, Bhumi Pednekar starrer is made on a budget of Rs 45 crores and collected only Rs 7.66 crores at the box office.

10. Great Indian Family

Vicky Kaushal starrer didn’t fare well at the box office as his movie earned Rs 5 crores at the box office. Great Indian Family had a budget of Rs 40 crores

11. Ganapath

Ganapath was high on VFX and action. The film was touted to be one of the most expensive movies as it was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore. Unfortunately, Tiger Shroff starrer failed to even collect half of its budget and raked in Rs 9 crores at the box office.

12. IB71

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 28 crores, Vidyut Jammwal starrer is based on true events. It collected Rs 22.49 crores at the box office.

13. Yaariyan 2

Yaariyan 2 is estimated to be made on a budget of Rs 45 crore and the movie has earned Rs 2.10 crore at the box office.
