Mostly every actor in the film has done a great job, but it is Gillian Anderson’s performance that stays with you and leaves an impact. She is brilliant, and believe us, she portrays the role of Lady Edwina Mountbatten effortlessly.
Perfect mixture of drama and emotions
Many movies about partition are either concentrated on emotions or are a political drama, but Gurinder Chadha has wonderfully mixed the emotions and the drama here, with nothing going over the board.
