Not many know of this, but Sridevi was married to actor Mithun Chakraborty, who was actually already married to Yogeeta Bali. The two got married in 1985 and later got it annulled in 1988. Even though, there is no solid proof to validate this piece of news, there are several sources and reports which confirm this story.

Another shocking incident was Boney Kapoor's ex-wife, late Mona Kapoor (expired in 2012 due to Cancer), admitting to the media that Sridevi had tied a Rakhi to her then husband Boney Kapoor, when he was married to Mona Kapoor.

It is said that Mithun was miffed with link-up reports of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor and that's the reason for Sridevi tying a rakhi to Boney Kapoor.

Yogita Bali, wife of Mithun, discovered about Sridevi-Mithun's affair and secret marriage and threatened to commit suicide. That's when Sridevi came to know that Mithun had not divorced Yogita and was still married to her.

Later on, rumours of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor started doing the rounds in the media and soon we heard news of Sridevi's pregnancy. It was reported that Sridevi was pregnant out of wedlock and then got married to Boney Kapoor in the year 1996. Meanwhile the gracious Mona let her children remain cordial to their dad and step-mom.

Our Bollywood stars may portray a rosy life on the big screen, but the reality is different for many of these stars off screen. The very senior actress and the powerhouse performer Sridevi, who has ruled the 80’s era has lead a scandalous love life off screen.

She made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in the hit Julie (1975). In Bollywood, she made her debut as a lead actress in Solva Sawan (1978) and gained wide public attention with the movie Himmatwala (1983). In spite of all the success and love coming her way, her love life off the screen was in doldrums.
