‘Band Baaja Baaraat’
It was only Anushka’s third release, but ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ saw an exceptionally mature performance from her. Her onscreen chemistry with the then debutant actor Ranveer Singh was charming and energetic. The film was a critical and commercial success.
‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’
Anushka Sharma played the part of Akira Rai, a documentary filmmaker, with perfection. Her performance literally outshone that of both her co-stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Her chemistry with both of them was equally pleasant and fantastic. Anushka picked up her first Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor – Female for this romantic drama which was also the last film directed by late filmmaker Yash Chopra.
‘PK’
Anushka Sharma played the part of a TV reporter for the first time in this Rajkumar Hirani directorial. She did a wonderful work of playing the character of Jagat Janani alias Jaggu. Her performance was quite evolved as an actor in this film which saw her working with superstar Aamir Khan for the first time. However, they were not paired romantically, and Anushka was seen opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.
‘NH10’
Anushka moved out of her comfort zone in her debut production venture 'NH10', and we saw her in a never-seen-before avatar. Her acting prowess is going to blow you away in this one. She portrayed to perfection the helplessness of a woman scorned who later turns into a merciless destroying force for the ones who wronged her. Her convincing portrayal is going to shake you up.
‘Sultan’
Anushka Sharma played the character of Aarfa, a state-level wrestler. It was her character that in a way inspires and motivates 'Sultan' (played by Salman Khan) to take up wrestling. Her outstanding performance is undoubtedly one of the important reasons behind this film turning into a massive blockbuster.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’
After shining throughout in ‘Sultan’, Anushka Sharma continued to win hearts with her impressive act in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Her character of Alizeh Khan is full of life even when she is diagnosed with cancer. Anushka stole the show with her emotionally controlled performance and her brilliant onscreen chemistry with her co-star Ranbir Kapoor. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ can be easily counted among her best performances till date.
After delivering a string of blockbusters last year, actress Anushka Sharma‘s name is definitely counted among the most successful ones in Bollywood. The actress, who has continued to surprise her fans with some amazing performances in her earlier films is all set for the release of her upcoming film ‘Phillauri‘.
