Vidya Balan aka Sulu
The first thing that instantly brought a smile on our faces was Vidya Balan. The actress' effortless energy and exuberance makes her for a natural performer. So, as we see the trailer and realise that Vidya has taken on the mantle of playing an RJ, we are instantly reminded of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' as in that particular movie too, Vidya played an RJ. However, there is a stark contrast between the two characters as this time, she plays a funny, and ambitious lady who runs a late night show. With her sensuous baritone and funny antics, Vidya as Sulochana is surely going to light up the screens and we can't wait for it.
Unconventional pairing of Vidya and Manav
As we talk of Vidya, her co-star Manav Kaul isn't far behind. A known personality in the world of films, his filmography boasts of movies like 'Kai Po Che', 'Haider', 'Jolly LLB 2', to name a few. Vidya and Manav make for an unconventional pair and yet they strike a chord with us, thanks to their adorable chemistry which is evident through the songs. They are a married couple with a child and their romantic chemistry in the trailer and songs also proves that age is not a barrier to shy away from expressing your love. Truly, their pairing makes the journey seem all the more exciting.
Eclectic mix of peppy songs
The music of the film is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Guru Randhawa, and it's the current flavour of the season. From a peppy and playful track like 'Ban Ja Tu Meri Rani', to the recreated version of 'Hawa Hawai', each of the songs has its speciality and has been well-received by the audiences. Personally, my favorite is 'Manva Likes To Fly', however I feel all songs are hummable and interesting, so yes that too contributes as a reason to watch the movie.
Encourages women empowerment
The movie's theme revolves around a housewife who dreams to fly high and bags a job as a radio jockey for a late night show. It's a step in the right direction for those housewives who have lost hope in themselves and are confined to the four walls of their houses. It encourages women empowerment and that too in a subtle manner without being too in-your-face. Surely, this one should be on the watchlist of every housewife and her husband included.
Special cameo by Ayushmann Khurrana
We love cameos and more so when a talented and good-looking actor does it. Ayushmann Khurrana deserves a place in this list because he has proved his mettle as a good performer plus he sings well too. Now, as we discover that he has a cameo in the movie, we get all the more excited. The details on his cameo have been kept under wraps, but this is some really good news to keep us waiting for the movie.
This Friday, a slice-of-life entertainer ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is all set to hit the big screens. The trailers and songs of the movie have sought major connect with the masses and Vidya Balan‘s charisma is winning hearts.
